BOINC slows down my applications. I feel it when I surf the web, not to say using other applications such as Photoshop and After Effects.

I read on other website saying that it's a OS X 10.5 bug, so BOINC share same execution priority as other applications.

Not exactly sure how to solve this.

That means it has to be run as a user process because of the security reasons?

It's not so convenient.

I think I have to limit the maximum resources allocate to the program to 90%. It slows down my daily tasks when I make it 100%.

Not exactly remember which version it was, probably earlier than 5.5.4. It was around 1 or 2 years ago.

Before I move to Mac Pro, I mostly ran BIOIC on Windows Vista 64bit with a quad-core CPU and 8GB of RAM. Very smooth even I use other softwares at the same time.

Hello. Currently I'm running Boinc 6.6.36 on OS X 10.5.7. My system config is 2 x Quad-Core Xeon 2.8Ghz with NVidia GT 120 8GB RAM. There is a problem with the Boinc process.

I remember long time ago, when I ran it with my MacBook Pro, all processes went into the category % Nice, now all processes go into the category % User, which slows down my system sometimes when I'm working on other things!

Anything to set? Or is this intentional?

Thanks.
