1) Message boards : BOINC Manager : Suspend not working on Linux (Message 113390)

Not something I am comfortable doing, unfortunately.
This has worked fine for me in the past in a VM, just not on this standalone box, interestingly the CPU workload does drop slightly when I suspend it.
(Running - suspended - running again)

I have just put a new box together and noticed that when I select suspend under activity it does not actually suspend the tasks, the CPU and GPU are still pegged according to the system monitor.
I have tried both versions of the manager in the repository, (7.18.1 and 7.22.1) the manager did allow me to add projects however and change the computing preferences.

Also if I pause the manager, wait a few mins and resume, I notice the completion percentages don't jump for the work units despite the CPU and GPU being pegged.

OS is Linux Mint 21.3

Just changed default preferences and my main rig has updated almost instantly, its as if the locations are set fine for the projects but not for boinc overall? regardless that I have set each project boinc just seems to be stuck on default, how can I have seperate computing settings for each machine?

Looking at the event log I can see :

30/11/2014 22:45:09 | SETI@home | General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults

All the projects show work as host location not home? any ideas why Boinc thinks it should be using home?

Cheers, disabled Bam on them as I am only on 3 projects now, making sure all is set in each project and Boinc global, will leave them overnight to see if they work themselfs out, if not may have to reset all and start again.

Ok so I am trying to set up two preferences for two machines and im getting very hit and miss results

I want this :

PC 1 11x CPU cores

PC 2 2x CPU cores

PC 1 uses work settings and PC 2 school

Just started PC 2 running again and added 2 new projects via Bam, fired it up and it used all 8 cpu cores rather than the 2 I set under boinc preferences

I click proprtys on all the projects and all say school but it still uses 8 cores

I thought PC1 was running right but I looked in settings and noticed the dedfault preferences were set to 11 as well, so as a test I changed this to 2 updated my client and sure enough its no only using 2 cores, PC2 however is still using 8?

So my question is, what am I doing wrong, and whats the best way to get PC 1 to use 11 cores and PC2 to use 2 cores?

So I have a Haswell based 13" rMBP and I want to use the GPU for crunching, should use less power than crunching on the CPU I think and should leave the machine usable as well.

So I thought Einstien at home would work but it turns out there Intel GPU units only work on Windows.

So my question is, is there a project that can run on a Intel GPU running OSX?

Cheers

Ok looks like I have it sorted, one last thing though, the latest project I add, first Milky way then Collantz's work units show as high priority and get done first even though other units were mid run?
