Hi
I was wondering if there was some automatic way to check for new versions of software, so I know when to run around and update stuff?
Thanks,
Far

Yep starting boinc.exe leaves a DOS window, but that's fine. And if it is running the second instance closes itself.

The tasks appear to have started. Are they OK running without boincmgr.exe - do they report back/update/etc themselves?

Hi,

This is v simple on *nix, but if someone could help me with windows equivalent it be really appreciated.

I want to do something like schedule a windows batch script that checks (at about 11pm) if boinc processes are running. If not then start them.

Scheduling something i'm fine with, but something that checks if a process exists first I don't know how to do. Or if there is a better way?

Thanks,
Far
6) Message boards : Promotion : Asking if ISP can classify BOINC data as under "free quota" ? (Message 30908)

Hi,

My ISP has some data that is classified as free, which means it does not get counted towards your monthly allowance.

I was thinking I would put together an email to them to see if they felt like adding BOINC projects into this un-counted allowance.

Has this been done before? Is there any guidance for emails content around?

Or probably more importantly, is there anywhere centralised that lists what URL's would be added to a filter so that they could -
- feel comfortable that the url's are legit
- not have to stuff around updating lists manually

Thanks,
Far

Checked all the registry stuff till I could understand it, ghosted the drive, then all psyched to regedit (I'm not that techy)...

But version 6.6.36 of boinc worked without having to touch anything!!

It's running 4 GPU's, all I've done is stuck the 3 dummy VGA loads on that I was using before to trick vista. Phew :-)

Anyone know? I won't be running Boinc when SLI is on, but will changing the registry cause any catastrophic stuffups if it is switched back to SLI for a while?

(I would just go ahead and try it but hard pressed to find time for any more rebuilds of this thing)

I want to make the LimitVideoPresentSources registry mod so I can run 2x295's.

Will this mod cause issues if I want to later set SLI on to play games?

Thanks,
Far
