You should take a look at the Folding at Home client before you call setting a set # of CPUs//GPUs simple in BOINC. The slot method is by far better/simpler and I wish that method was available when I want to mix projects on a single PC. Setting a specific # of CPUs with a PC with over 128 threads is impossible with the client alone as 1% can be 1 or 2 CPUs in some cases.

No I have made no changes to network settings. What does that tell you? It doesn't matter as you don't even believe logs.

The client will only communicate with one project at once. For updates, for getting work for mass adding projects.
And it has to do it that way for a very good reason- if it tries to contact multiple projects t the same time, how does it determine how much work to ask for, for each project?

Then separate getting work from getting preferences, reporting work, changing resource share or location, etc.
Instead of skipping over a project the client just does nothing.
Seriously?
Contacting the Scheduler is how all those things are done as it involves communication with the project.
Getting work can't be done until previously done work is reported. Why have two completely separate mechanisms for that???

And even having all of these things addressed through multiple separate mechanisms still won't stop this issue (or a similar one) from occurring, as whatever is causing things to stall and not time out is likely to be imbedded in all of these additional independent contact points with the project that you want to implement.
So while it won't block the other functions, it will block the function it is meant to be doing.

Have you made any changes to the network timeout settings?
Are your upload and download speeds with that project very fast or very slow. How large is the Scheduler file being transferred?
Answering the questions i asked could actually be of use in helping resolve the issue.

Its NOT my issue. Its BOINC trying to contact a down project and getting stuck on it. I literally gave you a log and you wont believe it. Its not a one time instance. A prior time was when SiDock and Rakesearch went down. I could not get a new task until I removed SiDock from the client. The exact same situation.

It's not a new thing or anything to do with my setup. Devs think that unless they see it, then it can't happen. So there it is.

I have never seen this issue even when I have several project in the list that are not active anymore.

I noticed my WUProp task not reporting after a couple of minutes. I clicked Update and still no new task. I saw that GPUGrid was updating, and updating and updating. The log shows it was updating for 15 min and WUProp would not update while its waiting for another project. I detach G{UIGrid and WUProp and minecraft immediately update and download more work.

For SiDock, all I get now is: "Can't connect to database"
For a period I could see the main page, a login screen (that didn't work) but none of top menu sections would drop down their links.

Rakeseach I already had attached. I see no forum posts so I could see how some things might not work unless there was already an account attached to clients.

Remove WCG as it's having issues. Use boinccmd if the client will not remove it. Delete the project folder and WCG files from data folder if you have to.

BOINC is just dumb and single threaded when it comes to communicating with projects. If it's stuck updating/communicating with one project it WILL NOT move on to the next. Even if the client has zero work to do, more project updates will not complete to get work. I had a client stuck on SoDock and would not get additional work from another until I just flat out detached SiDock. I've seen the same exact problem several times. Maybe its the same for you.

It's a math term. I'm not sure that company and the project are related.

The base URL of the project is a Crypto coin exchange

The GPU app was giving out some mega credit last night but it has been reducing over night. glibc 2.36 required (Ubuntu 24).

And regarding the "3. Place files in %USERPROFILE%\Axiom\contribute" : I wonder what kind of files and what kind of contributions they are referring to ?

@mmonnin did the guy say anything about this in discord ?

And so if there are no files copied in that folder, what are the boinc tasks actually doing ?

Yes he did mention that error. Since I believe the project is a waste of electricity I am not supporting uses on how to run it but its in discord a few days ago.
