Posted 21 Aug 2017 by Lawrence Post: Until today I was running BOINC and had long since passed (was it) silver? Today I went to add my new computer to the project with a view to moving all BOINC to the new laptop. I selected 'something' believing that I was introducing the new laptop to my setup - and then everything got deleted!! The running task was deleted (or moved to infinity) and I can not log into BOINC anyway on the new laptop because I don't know my log in details. I post this because the login data is remembered on this laptop although invisible otherwise. I don't know what I did wrong so I can't correct it. I looked at my 'total' (which I knew was quite high for me) but it shows no computer yet allocated!!!!!!!!! If the situation can be rescued, that is fine. If not, I shan't lose any sleep over it; it will just be wasted processing time. I'm running the latest BOINC version and the WCG. I have logged time on SETI@home previously but now devote the cycles to cancer projects.... regards Lawrence Harris |

Remaining estimated (time) doubles during run

Posted 28 Jun 2016 by Lawrence Post: v 7.6.22 Win-10 Einstein@home Firstly, I had to open a new account when BOIC suddenly decided that I didn't exist, even though I have posted here before! I am puzzled that during the E@h runs, what starts off as 12.5 hours, frequently becomes ~20+ in practice. My other BOINC project displays an accurate estimated run time. Can anyone advise here?
