Linux problem
(Message 48960)
Posted 3 May 2013 by skildude Post: OpenSUSE 12.1 and 12.3 I recently noted that my BOINC process was using 500Mb of ram while running 6.10.XX this continued while work was suspended or running. I upgraded the OS to OpenSUSE 12.3 and BOINC 6.12.XX from the OpenSUSE repositories. I still have this happening. I am currently running Correlator@home and it uses 160MB+ per core. this tends to make the OS sluggish. Has anyone seen this before? |

Posted 11 Feb 2011 by skildude Post: I'm dubious only for the fact that the 512 RSA has only completed around 1% of potential keys. which means it has a good 50 years or more to complete all combinations. a 1024 would exponentially increase the time to completion and really is a long long long term project |

BOINC Manager :
annoying error message
(Message 26566)
Posted 11 Aug 2009 by skildude Post: the popup message from BOINC indicates that the address provided was wrong and that I should check my spelling. Since it always connects this is more of an annoying bug than an actual error. |

annoying error message
(Message 26482)
Posted 4 Aug 2009 by skildude Post: I take that back. It didn't fix the problem. I'm betting this is a local phenomenon where BOINC attempts to connect to a server and when it doesnt get a prompt response it thinks theres a problem even thought Firefox connects correctly |

BOINC Manager :
annoying error message
(Message 26249)
Posted 25 Jul 2009 by skildude Post: using BOINC 6.6.36 on win64 Firefox is my default browser. Herein lies the problem. If I click on the links provided by the projects on the BOINC manager projects tab I get a message stating that BOINC cannot connect to the website and I need to check my the spelling of the address. Here's the annoying part. After giving me the message it loads the page properly. Is this a bug in 6.6.36 |

I can't download new Boinc version
(Message 23867)
Posted 24 Mar 2009 by skildude Post: I'd give this post a bit of time. Boinc forums are a bit more glacial than most forums. They'll get you an answer just give it time |
