Hello

My finished projects have been stuck on my transfer page with very little done all day ie they are stuck at 0.04% retry now does not make any difference
I checked my event log and all files show the message "project file upload handler is missing" on every project I also see a message "scheduler request failed error 400"
does anybody else have this problem or is there a solution
thanks Paul
4) Message boards : Questions and problems : System restore (Message 34491)

Post:
I needed to do a system restore to get my computer sorted out following a corrupt update from Superantispyware and this resulted in several projects coming up with a computation error.
is there anything I could have done first to stop this, if i need to do it again.
thanks Paul
5) Message boards : Questions and problems : Running CPU benchmarks (Message 30795)
Posted 4 Feb 2010 by paul
Post:
My Boinc sometimes comes up with this message Running Boinc benchmarks and suspends the running programs,
it then resumes the projects about 32 seconds later. however all projects then go straight back to their last saved position.I can lose several hours work on some projects and other shorter ones getting close to finish will start again.

can I turn off whatever causes this as I did not run the CPu benchmarks , it did it itself,
alternatively can it automatically save the running projects before running this?

thanks Paul
6) Message boards : Questions and problems : communicating with client please wait (Message 30413)

Hi
I keep getting this message which completely locks my computer up for about 5 minutes each time.
There are only 2 boxes to tick, Exit boinc and Cancel but neither seem to do much good.
I would suggest a 3rd button which disconnects the internet connection instantly as if it cannot sort it out with the client in a few seconds it should be terminated
if this cannot be done perhaps a warning not to chuck a brick through the screen in frustation should be included.

I occasionally keep getting this message and it is a pain in the neck as it often stops boinc for about a minutes then they run for a little while then the message appears again sometimes as little as 3 seconds

the trouble is when it shows everything else on my pc stops as well

it would be useful to have details of which project it is and an option to not let it connect as it only gives two options of closing boinc or clear neither of which are helpful
8) Message boards : Questions and problems : Boinc links (Message 27714)

Hi Jord

it seem to stay ok for a few hours and then takes a while to load them and occasionally works correctly again later

Today it was working but I needed to reinstall 3 times. since the last time it worked a few hours then went slow but is working again now without a re-install
I occasionally receive a message that it cannot download because it cannot find the browser so it could just be an occasional problem as the internet is still working

I use IE8 and windows XL

it seems to happen with all projects including the help tab which takes you to Boinc help, Boinc Managers Help and boinc website

today i clicked on the milkyway link and I knew it had stopped working properly so I did a google search found boinc and downloaded boinc it and ran and came up with the repair screen and uninstsll screen and I installed it and ran it all before the original milkyway website came up

I will try next time it happens to clear tempory internet files
when i get the next message about it failing to find the browser i will let you know the message.
thanks again Paul

9) Message boards : Questions and problems : Boinc links (Message 27705)

Post:
I have noticed a problem since the 6.6.36 was downloaded and still occurs with 6.6.38

when you click on the internet links on boinc it sometimes takes a few minutes to download them and stops boinc running until it does download it. this also affects any links from emails.

I decided to reinstall boinc and everything works perfectly for a little while with almost instant internet pages but eventually goes back to a few minutes until I re install boinc
the trouble is by re installing it can upset and give errors on some of the running projects.
it looks like boinc is causing this error

If you complete a project well in time and it cannot upload due to a known server problem with the project servers and you past the report deadline and it is still in upload status do you lose all the credits as it will eventually report late?
thanks

Post:
I have running boinc for 4 months and I have 2 cpu's so all the time I have 2 running proccesses and the rest waiting to start or ready to run.
I have added freehal@home to my list of projects today and downloaded a project I find for the first time I have 3 running processes.
is this ok as all 3 have there percent increasing although only the original 2 show up on the task manager as using 50% each.
if it is ok is there a way to run 3 all the time
thanks as this has puzzled me today

Hi
thanks for clarifying
I find the 60% came from primegrid and wonder if they have 60% as the default as I do not remember changing it.

it now stays at 100%

hi Jord
not on mine
when it was set at 100% and you hit clear to reset all local preferances to go back to the default it changes it to 60%
I also re downloaded version 6.6.36 and it was set as 60%

Hello
I found another advantage of setting it to 100%

when I used Tthrottle when it was set to 60% it showed a temperature of around 55-63 degrees and now shows at only 36%. and has not gone above 38 in the last 24 hours
I wonder why the default is 60 not 100 as this looks better all round?

When I am running boinc only and looking at the windows task manager, the cpu usage varies from 0% to 100% and back again about every 2 seconds permanently.
The performance tab shows about 30 peaks and troughs all the time
is this normal? or have I got a problem

I can supply a screenprint of this if required but cannot add it to this message

thanks in advance for any solution

20) Message boards : Projects : figures not updating (Message 25238)

Post:
I use Boinc stats and notice my id 5132554 has not been updated and shows no work done for 3 days and shows a figure of 62185 total credits for 3 days . when I click on my name it shows other stats which do update and shows on 3rd june 170 credits 4th june 322 credits 5th june 1628 credits also this currently shows 69304 credits. I think these should be showing on the main page and i am puzzled as work gets submitted everyday.
thanks for your help
