Before re-installation,I backup BOINC_Data directory. Then restored it after re-installation. I found boinc can't find my task and request tasks again! After looking for the information on the website,I found BOINC identify my NEW WinXP instance as ANOTHER new computer!! Why? Does BOINC identify computers just by the os-instance? That isn't a good idea!

2) Message boards : BOINC client : Why the downloading speed is so slow? (Message 22499) Posted 18 Jan 2009 by firstrose Post: When I join a project,like einstein,BOINC would download lots of files. What confused me is that the downloading speed is very very low,usually at 1KB/s. When I suspend the network,then resume,the speed rise,at 100KB/s for 5-10 seconds,and drop again. I am using 1M ADSL. Why can't BOINC make full use of my net?
