"Use GPU while computer is in use" is unchecked.

The scheduling setting in the activity menu is set to run per prefs.

boinctray.exe is running

GPU CUDA work doesn't auto suspend when computer is in use. The CPU jobs all do auto suspend properly.

I've noticed this behavior when I tried CUDA when it first came out. I stopped using it until just recently and see the problem is still there.

Thanks... very helpful. Especially...

"Can't I turn the damn thing off?
Yes, you can. In Seti, go to your Project preferences, edit them, take the check mark off of "Use Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) if available", save the changes. Then open BOINC manager->Advanced view->Projects tab->select Seti->click Update. Any work that is still appointed to the GPU will still be done, but you won't get new CUDA work"

I had tried this but didn't realize I needed to abort all the CUDA work too.

I'm now running 6.4.7 with CUDA turned off and no issues.

Thanks again :-)

Just an FYI

Windows Vista Ultimate 64
EVGA8800GTS512 Driver v. 182.08

I'm back to using Boinc 6.2.19 since I've yet to see an implementation of CUDA that is acceptable on my system...

Big hit on graphic performance... and performance doesn't increase back to normal on suspend of tasks...

have to completely shut down Boinc to get my computer back to normal.

Once again... just an FYI

2 issues with 6.4.5

All tasks, once running will not stop when told to suspend by various methods. Boinc must be shut down to stop them.

Second, screen corruption eventually occurs requiring full system reboot.

Vista 64 Ultimate, 8800GTS512 Graphic Card

Sorry cant't offer more than that.

Have gone back to version 6.2.19 and above problems are gone... of course, no CUDA support either.
