First outage since I converted my first cruncher to Linux. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to run it dry ...

May be multiple issues, then. Don't see a DNS issue here, as I'm consistently seeing:
5624	SETI@home	04/10/19 3:45:15 PM	update requested by user
5625	SETI@home	04/10/19 3:45:15 PM	Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
5626	SETI@home	04/10/19 3:45:15 PM	Reporting 21 completed tasks
5627	SETI@home	04/10/19 3:45:15 PM	Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GPU
5628	SETI@home	04/10/19 3:45:17 PM	Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
5629	SETI@home	04/10/19 3:45:17 PM	Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance
with or without local DNS override via hosts.

[edit] Aaand we're back [/]

Well, things are looking up. Getting some work, databases are normalizing ...
Perhaps soon the splitters will throttle back up. Seems like having the 02Apr Aricebo tape helped out; even got a few APs.

Nice, short and to the point. Uploads are up, downloads aren't down, and reporting isn't CNN. Overall a good one!

And it's getting worse. Uploading of finished tasks is now borked too.
. . I hadn't noticed that, my machines all ran out of work ages ago ... <sigh>

Now unborked, uploads have been fine for the last hour or so.

... might be a good thing if you aren't able to get the CPU work units running.
Heh, sounds that way!

If you are talking about GPUGrid CPU tasks (Quantum Chemistry?), they require Linux or Virtual Box.
Yeah, I stumbled across that impression a bit later, and had dropped Keith a PM requesting confirmation. So thanks for that.
No worries, Einstein seems to have plenty of CPU work, just no GPU stuff.
Thanks for the confirmation! Much appreciated!

. . Toying with World Community grid ATM but it also is sending only CPU tasks :(

. . I might have to try GPU Grid.

Stephen

<shrug>

lol
I've got GPU Grid doing just great on GPU work, but can't seem to coax a single CPU task out .... Sure wish BOINC could get some of its issues resolved,

Just a warning: GPUGrid programs are highly optimized and push a lot from the GPU.
So keep and eye on your GPU temps and increase the speed of the fan if necessary.

Thanks for the heads-up, Juan, and a good warning to others as well.
I had noticed that, and use HWInfo to watch temps on all boxes across the network.

LOL. Just think, it might NOT be back Monday & they decide to stay down until Wed to cover the regular Tues fun.
Now that would be some bitching from all those that micro-manage. :-)
