I appreciate the input but I already did uninstall, ran CCleaner, defraged drive, reinstalled as admin, gave permission for Boinc, same thing happened. prolly some weird thing with windows update and my system setup. |

thank you for the reply. 1) no, boinc is not running in task manager. 2) if you are talking PID then no nothing is using that port 2) ran netstat -an nothjing came up using that port either 3) I added boinc.exe as exclusion in Malwarebytes I forgot to add, windows did an update Tuesday, and it has not run since. it still does not work. |

under windows 10 at the bottom of the task manager screen it shows disconnected. rebooted manager, no help. rebooted computer, no help. upgraded to 7.10, no help. I am running windows defender and Malwarebytes. never had an issue before running both with Boinc. it appears to run task in command line. |
| 5) Message boards : Questions and problems : Issues Uninstalling or Re-Installing BOINC
Message 81326 Posted 16 Sep 2017 by bobc4d |
I have two log-ins, admin and user. I downloaded the latest Boinc, it failed on install as it was trying to update a program file in folder C:/windows/programs files/boinc, tried as admin, same thing. I logged off, logged in as admin. nothing. shut down PC,logged in as admin, still can't delete the boinc folder under windows/program files. I restarted the installation but when I came to naming the folder I changed it to boinc 2 and the installation went through. my question is would your method remove the offending boinc folder? |

Windows 10 release is less than a month away. how do I save my current (then) project information so after Win10 upgrade I can reinstall the project files and pickup where it left off. |
