1) Message boards : Android : New Version 7.16.5 (Message 96647) Posted 10 Mar 2020 by Jake Post: I uninstalled BOINC and reinstalled from the google play store, strangely it installed 7.4.53 (i was expecting a version older than 7.16.3) after adding the projects back into the app it seems to be functioning as expected now on my android 7.1.2, android 9 and android 10 devices.

2) Message boards : Android : New Version 7.16.5 (Message 96580) Posted 10 Mar 2020 by Jake Post: I too am experiencing similar behavior, I've found opening the app settings in android, going to boinc, and force stopping boinc will 'uncrash' it and bring the app back to life, but immediately crashes when computation starts. App works as expected until work begins then android notifies me the boinc app 'keeps stopping' at which point all the tasks disappear from the gui and all menus bring up a blank page untill the app is force stopped in the android settings. Ive tweaked the number of cores and cpu time limit but no effect. since the gui crashes i'm not sure how to extract the client logs to see if they shed any light on the issue.

(Message 69393) Posted 3 May 2016 by Jake Post: After much confusion with NUT (by far the hardest thing I've ever installed on a linux system) I finally got it to work flawlessly. I have NUT configured so when the UPS switches to AC or Battery NUT will pass the UPS status to a script I wrote which then decides to stop or start the BOINC processes via the commands you suggested. Thank you for your help, that turned out to be much simpler than I anticipated!

As I've just recently wiped and reinstalled my server (did a lot of testing and filled it with programs I didn't need) I'll give this idea a shot once I get NUT reinstalled and working.

(Message 69349) Posted 1 May 2016 by Jake Post: The server runs the "Ubuntu Server" OS which doesn't have a gui so there's no option for dimming of a screen since there is no screen. as far as I know NUT is the only program that knows of the UPS's status and it is currently configured to simply wait for the battery to get low before sending a shutdown signal.

(Message 69317) Posted 30 Apr 2016 by Jake Post: Basically just need a hack to link my UPS state to the battery state that BOINC uses when on a laptop. I have an ubuntu server thats running 24/7 powered through an Uninterruptable Power Supply so the machine can stay running through power outages, the ups is monitored via NUT (Network UPS Tools) which can get the status of the UPS (on AC / on Battery) how would I go about piping this data from NUT into BOINC such that if the power goes out BOINC stops computing to save battery. This is basically the same as how BOINC works on a laptop but since its installed on a desktop it doesn't know to ask NUT of the battery status and therefore keeps computing even though the machine is running on battery.

9) Message boards : Questions and problems : 4cpu process only using one cpu core (Message 62394) Posted 30 May 2015 by Jake Post: Currently a Milkyway@Home project says Running(4 CPUs) but when viewing the system load only one core is running at 100% while the other three are idle, the core with 100% use switches every several seconds (load balancing or something im assuming) why is this process claming its using 4 cpus but only using one? no other tasks can run while this one is since it is claming that it is going to be using all four cores. To me it would appear that it is supposed to use all four but the task isnt properly multithreaded? any ideas how i can address this issue? BOINC Client:7.4.23 BOINC Manager:7.4.23 (x64) Operating System: ubuntu 15.04 64-bit
