BOINC app is too simple
(Message 68220)
Posted 10 Mar 2016 by Jorma Oikarinen Post: Hello ! I just noticed how basic and closed the official BOINC app is . And my question is, Will the Android app be ever like the desktop one ? Or at least like the 3rd paty NativeBOINC which I currently use I mean : -Being able to see/abort/retry transfers (In my case , I need to "Retry" several times since my mobile broadband is pretty slow) -Include the "--allow_remote_gui_rpc" option in order to manage the client from our desktop computer -Having the option to "Run always" Well.. I'm not sure if the app is still under development or reached its "highest point" , But I remember the Beta version were even better Greetings ! |

Slow typing
(Message 68219)
Posted 10 Mar 2016 by Jorma Oikarinen Post: And there you have the problem .. In my case I have the same issue . Running a GPU workunit while using the computer will lead to a severe slowdown (laggy graphics , and slow typing) In my case I set the Manager to use the GPU only when the computer has been idle (no mouse / keyboard action) for 3 minutes and solved the issue . |

(Message 64951)
Posted 19 Oct 2015 by Jorma Oikarinen Post: Hello! Is there any way to establish a connection to the Android BOINC client using the PC manager ? I tried using the phone's local IP , But went unsuccesful . Maybe the gui_rpc_remote option is not enabled ? I can't either find the password browsing the root filesystem. |
