Thanks to both of you. It's not that big of a deal anyway, as I try to match the operating system with each computers hardware. Just because a machine is 64-bit capable, doesn't mean that it will be as effective, especailly if it only runs 32-bit programs. If there were some substantial difference than I'd seriously consider it, but as for now I'll just leave XP with SP3 running on the older boxes.

I have several PCs running BOINC projects, most of them are running Windows XP Pro in 32-bit. But I also have two machines running Vista 64-bit. 3 of my XP machines are capable of 64-bit operating systems. Is there any benefit to changing these over to 64 vs 32-bit?
