[Discussion] 4th Generation BOINC credit system

If a particular Boinc project has a financial reward then it should develop whatever payout system that works for that particular project. Expecting projects that were never conceived as for profit to consider adopting another credit system to accommodate for profit projects shows quite a bit of arrogance in my opinion. |

Posted 23 Dec 2014 by Joe Post: As expected this site doesn't recognize someone who has been around since 1999. I've tried my best over the years to accommodate/ignore the view of the powers that be that Boinc is my way or the highway. But I gotta give it to you, the last couple iteration simply make it impossible to run the projects on my hardware that I wish to run. I'm sorry I am not the stupid Boincbot that you pursue..maybe there I lots of them out their but I doubt it. You all had a great idea, literally millions of folks bought into that idea but somewhere along the line the decision was made that we know more than the idiots downloading our program so we will fix it for them. Good luck with your pursuit of that... |
