Posted 11 Nov 2014 by BJM Post: No, they automatically clear out after about a month. You can clear out notices manually by deleting or modifying the .xml files. To find them, go to your BOINC Data Directory, go to the notices folder, and find the file you want to edit. Each project has their own file. I did this yesterday and again today, as best I remember their XML filenames, deleted archive_primegrid... deleted primegrid_rss... deleted feeds_primegrid... deleted primegrid_notices... Yet the more than half a dozen PrimeGrid RSS notices received before I turned off their RSS feed (in their community preferences) are listed in the Notices Tab. Truly annoying! Do I really have to wait a month before they're gone? Or did I miss something? Wish it was true, according to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/GuiRpc "Unlike messages, notices can be removed." in get_notices(int seqno, NOTICES& notices. Some way to sort or filter them would be better... is the following available, or still just a dream: USER INTERFACE: "Buttons will let users filter by project and select notices," per http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/Notifications If we can select them, we could also DELETE them??? PLEASE?!! In so many cases, NO news is GOOD news! Thanks a bunch! |

Problem with no disk space for SETI@home

Posted 11 Nov 2014 by BJM Post: My situation is similar to Ulysse's: Why is BOINC using less than 1% of what I have allocated to it? Total disk usage used by BOINC 1.05 GB free, available to BOINC 225.00 GB free not available to BOINC 146.32 GB used by other programs 79.73 GB Disk & Memory Preferences set as: use at most 300 GB leave at least 100 GB free use at most 50% total use at most 50% page file Memory use at most 50% when in use use at most 100% when idle Leave apps in memory suspended IS checked Also checked Computing allowed & Use GPU while computer in use I don't understand why (0 means no restriction) for: While processor usage is less than 0% ?? So I have it set to 0 & tasks are running but it seems slow. Also don't understand why (0 means ignore this setting) for: On multiprocessor systems, use at most... I have it set to 75% on a quad core intel win8.1 Also have set use at most 75% cpu time. So many tasks Waiting & Ready to Run, so much disk space to give them ... TIA for any helpful answers! |
