BOINC Manager - Windows version 7.8.2 (64) -

Column Sort : Does not sort.

Click on any column header on Projects and Tasks Tabs, and nothing happens. Default sort by Project name remains.

I guess we'll be seeing another update soon.

Thanks!

// Brian

Had the same problem immediately after install. Reboot fixed it.

I see in the properties tab of the BOINC manager two different memory listings:
Virtual memory size
Working set size
What is the difference between the two? Is the virtual size the amount of RAM reserved by the task and working set size the amount actually used? Specifically, if I am in one of my micromanaging moods, is the virtual memory size the amount of RAM held if I were to suspend a task to run another and thus unavailable to BOINC or the system as a whole?

Demanding such "trinkets" would be petty of the community.

There is a rather large difference between a demand and a request.

I like badges,

I can see that from the numerous "trinkets" in your signature.

So, that would go back to the project admins having to divert their time to design or approve user created designs, come up with a system for it, and then have one more thing to maintain that really has nothing to do with the science being done.

Someone must have hijacked your account. Is this the same Coleslaw who posted here within days of an announced beta test when of all times project admins should be busy with more important matters? That post made a lot of sense to me and actually planted the seed of this idea. I had thought you would have been one of the supporters of this idea. All it takes is a few requests of the admins at the projects that don't offer badges by interested crunchers with posting access. Your lone request at Cosmo (which I supported) seems likely to produce positive results. Why cannot the same be done at other projects?

In no way did I mean to imply a boycott or other extreme measures.

Far too many BOINC projects do not offer or export badges. It is time for this to change. A full court press needs to be made at the projects who do not or have refused to implement them. In general, I only crunch projects that provide them. My lack of credit/RAC at many of these projects makes it impossible for me to post in the appropriate forums to try to stir up some action. I hope like minded individuals will take the time to apply pressure wherever they can. In this age a badge system should be as basic as granting credit. I would crunch projects I have little or no interest in to obtain badges. This can only help the projects themselves. Please join me in a goal of having at least 10 projects either implement badges or commit to do so by the end of the month.

BOINC v 7.6.9

Win 7

Noticed this morning that the projects page in BOINC mgr is completely blank including headers. Exited/restarted BOINC and BOINC mgr. Rebooted computer. Still nothing. Command tabs on left grayed out and unusable. Any ideas?
