Posted 1 Apr 2009 by Jack Post: I tried the above, and the log files were not created, yes I am running from an administrator account. When I set the screensaver a little empty box comes up with an OK button, this box also comes up right before the screensaver starts. |

screensaver hangs on resume
(Message 24023)
Posted 31 Mar 2009 by Jack Post: It doesn't "freeze" when I resume but it it switches to "BOINC screensaver is shutting down" and then the only way to kill the screensaver is to ctrl-alt-delete and kill the application. This is on a NEW INSTALL, I have tried both 6.4.7 and 6.2.19 and I get the same issue with both. |

Posted 8 Mar 2009 by Jack Post: It tracks the progress of all your current tasks. When a task is being worked on, the bar is green, when it is not, the bar is red. It is mostly just for fun for those people that like to see some sort of progress is actually being made by their computer. jack |

Posted 5 Mar 2009 by Jack Post: Here are some screenshots... What is the interest in me releasing this to the public? It would just take a little more work, I'd have to rename it (Boinc-Jack isn't the best name :)) and such... Any questions on how it works? It should recognize all BOINC projects in the official list as of December 08... |

Screensavers flickering
(Message 21685)
Posted 8 Dec 2008 by Jack Post: Hello, I am having this problem that my screensavers start flickering after being displayed for a while. I have my GPU overclocked, so at first I thought it was that, so I reduced the clock back to normal, but the flickering continued. Then I quit the overclocking application completely (RivaTuner) and the flickering continued. The only thing that has changed since the flickering started is I updated to the newest WHQL nvidia drivers, but I haven't seen anyone else on the web having this issue with these drivers. I've updated BOINC from 6.2.19 to 6.4.3 and that hasn't fixed it. Does it seem like my only hope is to roll back the gfx drivers? Jack |

how to uninstall BOINC as a service
(Message 19159)
Posted 4 Aug 2008 by Jack Post: I can stop it by doing "suspend" under "activity" but when I choose "run based on preferences" it just starts up again =/ My preferences were not to use while computer is in use, use after 1 minute of inactivity, and also set to "run based on preferences". I went back to 5.x so I can't check that boinctray was running, but I did have the tray icon, so I assume that it was. You can see now someone else having the same problem as me in another post. I liked this update for the fact that I could actually see the screensaver, but it looks like its back to 5.x for me. |

how to uninstall BOINC as a service
(Message 19100)
Posted 2 Aug 2008 by Jack Post: I recently made the mistake when upgrading BOINC of installing it as a service. Now it runs 100% of the time, even when I'm using my computer. I realize this is intended... Thats probably why it still did it when I reinstalled the first time. I uninstalled using add/remove programs this time and reinstalled and now its behaving the way I want it to. Jack |

I realize this is intended. However, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and its still doing it. I've looked under services and can't seem to find the service to stop it. Any suggestions? Jack |
