Hadn't even thought of setting the run time essentially backwards; I got stuck in the run all the time, insert exceptions. Thank you.

I'd like to have my system process all day EXCEPT during high-peak electricity cost periods, but the Daily scheduler doesn't seem to work that way. How would I set it up to run all the time except 1500-1800?
3) Message boards : Questions and problems : suspended CPU usage (Message 102148)

I figured with the line in the global_prefs_override.xml file of <suspend_cpu_usage>0.000000</suspend_cpu_usage> it might mean that one could set the number of processors available when in a suspended state. If that is not what it does, then what does this line do?

I am trying to make it so that the suspended CPU usage is no 0 (in hopes that exclusive apps will simply limit resources, not cut them off completely). I changed the <suspend_cpu_usage>0.000000</suspend_cpu_usage> in global_prefs_override.xml to <suspend_cpu_usage>50.000000</suspend_cpu_usage> (seems like a simple solution), but do not see any difference when I run an exclusive app or even just tell the program to suspend. I saw in other threads a mention of just a global_prefs.xml file, but I cannot find that file anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I might look to play with this setting?

You're missing the flexibility it allows. You can have exclusive applications that completely suspend BOINC, but being able to simple change the allocated processing % based on what apps are running (i.e. if I am playing a game I'd change my baseline 90% to 50% so that BOINC doesn't cause stuttering, but is still working) rather than stop it all together means that more work will get done no matter what you are doing. I can do this manually now, but it should be easy for this to be automated.

Can we get an option of more than on or off for CPU usage? Can we have programs that simply throttle the CPU usage of BOINC back based on the application? Rather than stop processing completely while I am playing or running code I'd rather BOINC manager just cut back from my normal 90% to say 50%
8) Message boards : Questions and problems : Use ONLY GPU?? (Message 88428)

I appreciate the response. I am on Rosetta's website in my preferences and not only do I not see the option to select 'Use CPU' the limited checkboxes I have are non-responsive.

I am clearing all projects before limiting my focus to a single project. I know the work is important to all and don't want to leave pieces unfinished.

Is there anyway to let a project use just my GPU? I want my CPU working on 1 project the fulltime, but that project doesn't use the GPU. Is there a way to force a project to just use the GPU?
10) Message boards : Questions and problems : How to clear Disk Sapce (Message 51703)

I have run out of allocated disk space for BOINC. I believe in the past I went into the BOINC folder and cleared some of the data out of there, but I don't remember how to tell if it was already processed, or still being used. Anyone have any ideas on this?

All 4 of my projects have been "project backoff" for the past 2 days. I have not been able to download anything for BOINC to work with. Is there a way to resolve this?

I am doing Seti, MilkyWay, climateprediction, and the alpha 7.0.20 project.

Is there a way to have more than just an on/off for the exclusive app setting? I would like to have my computer use all 8 threads while idle, 6 when I am using the computer, and 4 when I have certain apps running. It seems like the config_cc.xml should be able to handle this kind of customization, but I haven't seen anything about how to do it.

OK, so it is working now (had it set to run always, not based on preferences). I feel dumb for not trying that in the first place.
