1) Message boards : Questions and problems : BOINC Off-screen in Windows 7 (Message 55458) Posted 18 Aug 2014 by Face-Plants Post: Sounds like 2 separate issues here: screen resolution and possibly having BOINC window moving to another display. What size is the monitor and do you know the native resolution for it? It sounds like you may have multiple displays set-up and it is sending the window to one of the other displays. In windows you can press "Windows Key" + Shift + Left/Right Key to send the active window from one monitor to another. I do this at home to send my media player from my monitor to my connected TV for example. First try Windows + Shift + Right and see if the window comes back. If you're in Win7 now, right-click a blank area of the desktop and open 'Screen Resolution'. Does it show more than one display as active (Blue instead of Grey)? If it does show more than one active display and you only have the one monitor connected, you can disable the extra ones. Hit 'Identify' in the screen resolution window and whatever number is displayed on your monitor, you can set the multiple displays option to "Show Desktop only on x". Where x is the number displayed when hitting identify.

2) Message boards : Questions and problems : BOINC saving project files to every HD connected to PC (Message 55457) Posted 18 Aug 2014 by Face-Plants Post: I'm a long-time BOINC volunteer and have never had an issue I couldn't easily find an answer to... until now. I've just recently noticed that BOINC is saving project data to every hard drive I connect to one of my computers. This is especially troublesome on my server as I am constantly connecting customer's HD's to backup data or run virus scans etc. I am running BOINC Manager 7.2.42 (x64) in Win7 x64 The folder it keeps copying files to is %ROOT%\Users\All Users\BOINC It consumes 3.2Gb, most of which is a sub-dir called projects. In \Projects\ there are files from Einstein@Home, World Community Grid, LHC@Home, SETI@Home and many other projects I haven't had active tasks for months now. When I say these files are copied to EVERY HD attached to my machine, what I really mean is every HD with a Windows Install on the drive. It only seems to be copied over when there is a folder \Users\ in the root. Connecting drives without this directory don't have the same issue. I've looked in BOINC options and computing preferences but I can only find settings for how much space projects can use, not which drives they store files on. I'd greatly appreciate you're help!
