1) Message boards : Android : Odroid c1+ Android issue pauses (Message 87364)

Post:
BOINC runs for a while and then pauses with the message "Connect your device to a charger to continue computing. Of course it is plugged in since there is no battery. Restarting the application or rebooting the computer does not resume processing. Reinstalling BOINC will get it going again for a while and it reoccurs. I have Android 4.4.4 and BOINC 7.5.43, also fails with 7.4.43. I see I am not the only person to have experienced this error, but I have not seen any fixes?

Well I uninstalled again, searched storage and deleted everything I could find that had "boinc" in the name. went into regedit and removed anything there that had "boinc" in it. Rebooted. reinstalled and now its working.

Attached the log after restarting. I was looking in Windows firewall and it says by default it will allow outgoing connections, but I did add all the executables in the BOINC directory to the firewall rules with no effect.

Edit - I turned off the firewall altogether and it did not correct the issue.

After upgrading to 10 and letting it activate succesfully, did you do a clean install for 10? I would recommend that, especially when you had already a clean setup and nothing to lose.

There's also BOINC version 7.6.9 available.

I have also tried 7.6.9 with the same result. I have not done a clean install of 10 after the upgrade, I could try that but this is not a problem on my laptop which I also upgraded.

I did a clean install of 7 and then upgraded to 10. I installed BOINC 7.6.6 and have also tried 7.4.42. When I add a project I see this message and then nothing.

It doesn't fail or complete, just nothing.

Any ideas? Here's mine: Mint 17 64 bit doesn't recognize your GPU. Just like it said.

What driver are you using?

Restarting the client might help, there is a timing issue with BOINC starting before the driver loads.

sudo /etc/init.d/boinc-client restart

If you add this to the cc_config.xml file it will provide additional diagnostics.

I downloaded and manually installed the same version of the driver from NVIDIA and it is now working. I had previously used Driver Manager to get it from the xorg-edgers PPA. I had assumed the one from the ppa was identical to the one on the NVIDIA website, apparently it is not.

What if you wait for a couple more minutes after a reboot and then manually start the client? At times the x-server doesn't start until late and it is needed for the detection of the GPU.

I have tried stopping and restarting the client with the same result.

Check through Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/Derivatives - GPU recognition fixes first.

Thanks there was some useful info there. I set the debug flag and restarted. The error message now is:

Fri 08 Aug 2014 12:15:02 PM MDT | | NVIDIA drivers present but no GPUs found

The GPU is working fine, the NVIDIA utility sees it correctly.

I have a fresh install of Mint 17 64 bit, with the 340.24 Nvidia driver. My GPU is a GTX-750ti. I have tried 3 different versions of BOINC (7.2.42, 7.0.65 and 7.4.12) but keep getting No Usable GPU detected. I have tried manually bouncing the client as well.

This same system running Ubuntu 14.04 was working fine a few days ago. Mint 17 is based on Ubuntu 14.04 so I don't understand what's different that is preventing the GPU from being recognized. Any ideas?
