If you are talking about GPUGrid CPU tasks (Quantum Chemistry?), they require Linux or Virtual Box. But beware, they use 4 CPU threads per work unit unless you modify your app_config to restrict how many threads it uses. It drives the Temp up like crazy. I had to install a 360mm Rad AIO to keep the temps below 60 C for just 3 CPU work units. It also uses a HUGE amount of either SSD or HDD space, between 30-60GB per work unit. I had to switch out mine for a 4 TB HDD so I would not run out of space. So might be a good thing if you aren't able to get the CPU work units running. |

GPUGRID is really putting a load on my single fan GTX1060. I stopped OC and really cranked up the fan and it still is 10c warmer than SOG. The credit it awards is ridiculous, 13,350 for 1 hr and 20 min. Oh well the science is worthwhile. Depending on which work unit it can raise temp by 10C. There's a new batch of Pablo work units that really stress the GPUs. Even with my hybrids, the temps are going higher than usual. So keep an eye on them and make sure you are able to keep them cool. |

Seems to be server issues. Took forever to get this site up and post. Unable to get Seti. BOINC manager is on back off for uploads....Have to wonder what the issue is. |

Found an old 750Ti hiding in my dad's old computer. Hasn't been run in over year and half... Might need to salvage this thing.... |

Well, when we're back up - I'm going to look at my reported GPU tasks. See if they're doing what my Einstein ones did. Then I might have a chat about which incantation would be best. What was the problem with your task Anne?? Hello Anne! |

Thanks Ageless. @Keith, Yeah I would never have thought that either but it does explain somethings, but makes me scratch my head on others. |

Not so much from nvidia directly but many of the articles talk about the 25% value. This one is the most recent one I could find https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/992502/why-is-cl_device_max_mem_alloc_size-never-larger-than-25-of-cl_device_global_mem_size-only-on-nvidia-/ |
