In other words, they say regular Boinc is insecure. ;)
Anyway, it's not necessary to use theirs.

I use the regular Boinc with WCG projects since months without any problem.
I see no need to use their version.

I just read where 6.4.6 was withdrawn. Possibly the locale problem is inherent in the build and not a corrupted download. Yesterday, I installed 6.4.6 on all non-cuda systems. I hope it is working.

No, the locale works okay now with the 6.4.6 I was finally able to download.

To the mods: is there something else broken in 6.4.6 which explain the withdraw, please?

Regards,
François

Hi.
With this new release, the french locale doesn't work.
I see everything in english.
My default language was French Canadian, and French doesn't work any better.

There's nothing about Timezone in the BIOS.

Well no, that's normal. The clock crystals don't do timezones, that's something for the OS to figure out.
OK, so Windows time shows the correct time. Only BOINC is behind one hour, no matter what you do, right? How did you change the time, by hand or using that little program that Microsoft had handy? (Since Win2k wouldn't do it by itself).

I used Microsoft's TZEDIT.EXE utility.
But I found the culprit: I had a TZ statement in autoexec.bat.
Removed it and bingo!

Thanks again for the help!
François

Small question, last time you rebooted, did you check in the BIOS if your time had changed there as well? For all I know, Windows is putting a shell on the clock until the "real" change to DST and therefore the system time is lagging as well. (Just guessing here, really ;))

The time is correct in the BIOS.
FWIW, it's a COMPAQ machine, with a strange, proprietary BIOS.
There's nothing about Timezone in the BIOS.

Hi.
On the Messages tab of my Boinc 5.8.15, the DST change isn't effective.
The time is lagging an hour now.
Any ideas?
My system is correctly configured under DST.

18) Message boards : BOINC Manager : Changing the logo in the screensaver? (Message 1263)

Hi.
I'm now running Predictor@Home.
This project doesn't have a screeensaver so I get the default BOINC screensaver.
I don't mind that, but is there a way to replace the BOINC logo with another picture?

Best regards,
Franois
Why bother to try to change the BOINC screensaver when you can easily make one of your own, and select that to run?

The BOINC screensaver is nevertheless informative; it shows the progress percentage. I also want to give the maximum CPU time to BOINC, so I'm avoiding another, different, scrensaver.

Well, since BOINC is Open Source, you could build it in yourself. :)

I wouldn't ask or suggest if I was able to do it myself.

You never answered if you were on Mac, Windows, or Linux. I have looked, and I believe I can change the image in the Mac version. I _do_ have the tools. :-)

Windows.
