...except I thought today was the 18th. It was still a nice lecture though. |

Nelson Mandela would have been 100 today (if he hadn't died of course). Barack Obama did a nice annual lecture at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium to mark the occasion :) |

As it wiggled, tiggled and tickled inside you.I love that song :) Just don't swallow a Red Back spider!I've not really had the opportunity to since leaving Africa, but it's always good to top up on old advice, just in case. Thanks, Stephen :) I forgot to add my hopes for a shorter outrage than last week's too. So I'll do that in a minute. |

I woke to find the kitchen draped in last night's leftover spaghetti. *absorb there are others out there who also have problems* I'm sorry about your fan, Jord. With blades flying about, a reinforced backside is a good idea. |

I thought there was something seriously wrong with the colour balance on the television today. But it's okay. I just had to wait for the camera to pan out and for Putin to come into shot. |

Something happened involving my knee under the little slidey table where the keyboard and mouse live, and now I can't get rid of Microsoft dumping their home page/search engine/news feed stuff on EVERY TAB I OPEN Even when I think I finally have... oh no... no... look... there it is... it comes back just exactly how I didn't order it to. |

I've just realised my calendar is still saying its May. I have fixed it. Thanks to Jord I haven't fixed what just happened in my kitchen though. The perpetrators are just giving me those blank, it-must-have-just-happened-all-by-itself stares. So I'll be awhile *wave listlessly at everyone* |

If your car was blocking the road for three months a la CPDN - your car would have long been towed off the road and thrown into a junkyard. As CPDN should! ;-)Except it was a bootiful car ;) and only a hundred had been made - and when I needed to sell it a year or so later, I was offered considerably more than I'd paid for it, sight unseen (even though I'd admitted it wouldn't start and hadn't been driven for months) and I've never seen a car more lovingly ensconced onto a transporter ... no... I haven't :) And anyway... I'd like to join the CPDN project, and I'm not sure I want it to be in a junkyard :) |

I wondered where it went...*get hit by sudden thought* ;) Still down we're being treated to a long oneIt's been awhile. ...what exactly is a link light exactly? Google said something about a train service, and a heap of other things that looked like gadgets to me... and that made me glaze over with flashbacks involving BT :/ |

sad tree news for me to bang on about now, people. Yes...International scientists have discovered that most of the oldest and largest African baobab trees have died over the past 12 years. :( There was something else I wanted to post too, also on trees, but I can't find a link for it and I'm a bit fuzzy on details. So I might need to search Aljazeera because that's where I think I saw it (although it could have been somewhere else entirely and it was awhile ago) but part of its focus was on just how much and where a lot of African rainforest wood is turning up. And it's not Africa. No... it's not even countries without perfectly good, well-managed logging resources of their own. Something that was said during the program, in particular stayed in my head and that was, that it was time to look at the trappings and ornaments of these dead trees in the same way we look at ivory. |

:))) You ask good questions, Bernie ;) I will field test and report back... I already have one that's pending. A preliminary investigation into whether I can still do cartwheels has led to the suspicion that I can only do carts before getting stuck in a handstand. A longer run up at a greater speed might be all that's needed because nothing slows me down like a brick wall does, but it will have to be more of a public spectacle than my garden allows for. And the handstand is a bit prone to summary collapse because awhile ago I dislocated my thumb when I sat on it with a great force on a bus, and I'm still being a bit precious with it...*get hit by sudden thought* edited for aesthetic reasons |

I remember breaking down once in a stream of traffic heading into Johannesburg, and the driver behind me having such a long loud party with his hooter. It didn't start my car. The only thing that shut him up was inviting him to start it while I held down his hooter. |

I heard a rumour that some of the American Declaration of Independence was deleted by a Facebook algorithm as hate speech just in time for the 4th of July. I've not read it. Probably because the title seems so self-explanatory. I might have to now... ;) |
