Re my last post 2 hours ago: I have realised that I should have suplied some more information. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. My PC is a Zoostorm with an Intel Celeron G1620 CPU with integrated graphics controller. The motherboard is Gigabyte Model H61M-DS2 DVI. the 1st part of the BOINC log is:

When starting BOINC it kept crashing without completing initialisation. Windows log showed
"Event 1000 Application error"

I discovered accidentally that after restarting BOINC as an administrator it worked OK and restarted the tasks that were running before the reboot. It is easy to get round this problem once you know that BOINC needs admin rights, but the error messages give no indication that this is the cause of the problem.

further to my previous post. I uninstalled BOINC, re-downloaded it and re-installed it. Now working OK.

I have just installed BOINC 7.4.42. On starting it I get messages that it has crashed 3 times then 'unable to connect to the core client'. I am using Windows 7. On the windows wvent log the message is: 'event 1000 application error'
