All right, I'll step back one rev.

And yes, the red ball reference was too the screen saver. I thought that was obvious.

Well, I uninstalled and reinstalled .39, and same problem. The globe never appears.

Any suggestions?

This new .42 release sounds like a winner from all the bugs. I looked around and didn't see anyone dealing with this one:

When screen saver mode kicks in, I see minimizing and maximizing windows, the screen goes black, I get the red dot globe for all of a second, then back to the desktop, flashing black screen, and windows minimizing and maximizing. It never goes into full ss mode and lets the red dot pattern rotate on screen. I never had this problem with prior versions.

Well I seem to be in a bit of a pickle with the latest client. It won't install. It goes through the process, then gives me an error box saying a feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. It asks for an alternate path to the BOINC.msi file, which I find and point to it, but it still gives the error.

So the install fails. But it FUBARed the install I had on my PC, so it won't run. And I can't uninstall it with Windows Uninstall for the same reason.

So now my old client is gone and the new one won't install. Help, please?
