(Message 82032) Posted 17 Oct 2017 by Sir LanDroid Post: As some of you already know, we just started testing of CUDA Gromacs application for Linux and Windows computers. To use it under Linux you should have Gromacs installed (apt-get install gromacs on Debian based systems). Under Windows you should have Nvidia GPU with CUDA 2.3 capability and AVX256 capable CPU. As apps are now under tests, only users with test applications enabled will get tasks. Click on a project and you can see how many points it generated daily in the last 28 to 40 days (along with much more info if you click around). Here's advice from a Forum Admin (from the thread Dr. Who Fan provided). Takes longer than he suggests, about 20+ minutes to upload about 50 of 'em. Open BOINC Manager at the transfers tab. Select them all by clicking the first one and then shift-clicking the last one. Click the "retry now" button. If the process stalls, or if a significant number of the entries reverts to "retrying in ..." just click the retry button again. Rinse and repeat until the entire list has cleared. This might take several minutes for a particularly long list of stuck transfers but the entire list cam be cleared this way. 51) Message boards : Projects : Similarity Matrix of Proteins (Message 58455) Posted 6 Dec 2014 by Sir LanDroid Post: SIMAP will leave BOINC by end of 2014 SIMAP is currently moving towards new algorithms for similarity calculations and scoring. After extensive tests and evaluations during the last months it turned out that the best way to continue SIMAP will be to use dedicated local hardware in our institute. SIMAP will therefore use BOINC only to maintain the current SIMAP database until the end of 2014. BOINC clients for the new SIMAP database will not be released and there will be no workunits for SIMAP after 2014. After 10 very successful years of SIMAP within BOINC this decision was not an easy one for us. However, we thank all users for their support in the past and in the upcoming last period until the end of the year. http://boincsimap.org/boincsimap/ Just a reminder there are only 3 1/2 weeks left to crunch this project before it closes. If I understand it correctly, this could be an important project that opens up Boinc to apps that allow interaction between WUs on different computers. (WUs communicate by transferring info back and forth to a central server, not directly to each other.)

OProject announced they would be down until 10/8/2014, returning with a brand new faster server. However that date format is ambiguous: since August 10 has come and gone, evidently OProject will be down until October 8 2014.
