In one of my computers i have a long work buffer, although in boinc's preferences it's only 0.25 days, it's a lot more in reality. Is this normal?

In other computer I have only a few tasks waiting in buffer, and i would like to increase it's size.

What should i do to properly configure these work buffers in a independent way for each computer?

But the backup part is optional? Will boinc remember configurations and workunits?

And what folder/directory should i save? All files inside boinc main directory?

Is it possible to turn an existing boinc installation into a service type one?

Or do i have to uninstall and re-install? And in this case, should i do some kind of backup or not?

Is there a way to force BOINC to obey a maximum number of applications running?

I'm asking this because some times BOINC insists on starting new applications while there are other ones not finished! This causes a massive increase in memory usage. I can afford two applications running, but not more!
