Only BOINC version that even starts on a Windows 8 x64 OS is the alpha (7.0.42). I wouldn't call the alpha version working either. E: v7.0.28 BOINC tray starts, but nothing is shown to the user. After about a minute, the process disappears from running tasks. v7.0.38 was probably some alpha version at the time?
