Whenever I try to update an older BOINC application, I get during the new install an error message that it cannot remove the older version. I have done sofar as to a.uninstall the older version of Boinc and remove all refferences to BOINC in the regestry (and rebooting). I get the same error message, "cannot remove the older version." Every now and again I get a windows message saying it wasn't use to download this file, and I'm given the only option to delete the file. A year later i bought a laptop and Iinstall BOINC new without any problems. tried to install the same version that I tried to insall on the machine a year ago, I get the same error. The laptop is not as powerfull as my desktop. I wish to use the desktop. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THIS TO WORK!!!?

11) Message boards : Questions and problems : BOINC 6.10.43/6.10.44 no longer released for public (Message 32443) Posted 29 Apr 2010 by John Phelan-Cummings Post: I tried to first install version BOINC 6.10.50 then 6.10.44, both as a update, then 6.10.43, as a new installation, after uninstalling the previous version. I keep getting a message that reads, "The feature you are rying to us is on a nework resource that is unavailable." "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'BOINC.msi' in the box below." Even when I try treating BOINC as a new install by deleting the old installations..., it will not install, even in Safe Mode, new or earlier versions of BOINC. In all cases, I get the same error messages. What gives? jphelan
12) Message boards : Questions and problems : Version 6.10.36 Does Not install (Message 31401) Posted 7 Mar 2010 by John Phelan-Cummings Post: I have Windows 7 Ultimate; quad 4; 4 gig of internal memory; NVIDIA GTX 9800+; the latest CUDA drivers; I have notice that through the various version of BOINC beta, that my computer freezes up; I then have to crash my computer and reboot. I decided to waid for you to come out with the latest and greatest official/final version 6.10.36. Even when I uninstall the previous version of BOINC, it still freezes, and more than ever! I'm now logged in under "safe mode". Have you discontinued support for the GTX 9800+? Do you have any insite as to what is going on? jphelan

It has a core temp of 64 degrees; core clock speed of 792.0 MHz; Shader sped of 1944.o MHz, and Memory clock speed of 1053.0 MHz. What effect would it have on my memory clock and number crunching if I lowered or raised the Shader speed? jphelan

(Message 23815) Posted 20 Mar 2009 by John Phelan-Cummings Post: It all began with adding a new project and adding my team name preference to my new project: Why can I no longer get my team statistics for “BOINC Synergy”, or more importantly, “Detail Statistics for “MYACCOUNTNAME” for that team group? When I added a new project, the team name selection process was such that I selected, “Allprojectstats” when I did not intend to. The result was my having to go back in every project's web site, in which I have peviously selected, and manually delete every indication of, “Allprojectstats” as a team preference, and change it back to, “BOINC Synergy”. Yes, most of my listed projects had automatically changed to, “Allprojectstats” without my permission. Now that I changed all my projects back to, ”BOINC Synergy”, the short cuts that I have created for various sits on, “BOINC Synergy” no longer work, i.e., “Detail Statistics for MYACCOUNTNAME” for which I can no longer locate on the Internet through any other "BOINC Synergy" page. I tried going into a, "BOINC Synergy Forum page, but I have to login. They tell me that my name and password will not work. I am offered to have a link to change my password sent to my e-mail address. Every time I create a new password I am always sent back to my e-mail to link and change my password. Finally, “Allprojectstats” continues to display my project stats for myself without the sme details that I am use to getting under "BOINC SYNERGY,(never a broken shortcut here) with my team preference listed correctly as, “BOINC Synergy” now. I prefer the, "OINC SYNERRGY" page version, but hw do I get to it? any ideas out there? John
