1) Message boards : BOINC client : What are the proxy setting (Message 1592) Posted 6 Dec 2005 by The Major Post: I have Norton Internet Security running and have used SETI for several years. I just installed BOINC and it keeps asking for Proxy Setting, that I have never needed before. What's up with this thing????? After making this post I shutdown Norton and magicly BOINC connected to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ and ran fine for a while. I disconnected my cable modem and restarted my computer and surprise the project that had been running for several days was gone. I must say keeping running BOINC is becoming a full time job, which I find a pain in my second point of contact. How about telling me the secret to keeping this piece of _____ running!
