When the phone is not already attached to a project, it brings up the screen with the BOINC logo and the list of projects you can attach to. Once attached you’ll go to the attached projects list when BOINC is restarted.

The attached projects list and task list both have the menu button, while the attach to project wizard does not.

So, attach to a project before the menu button, and thus the add URL of your own option becomes available.

So in order to add a project not on the list I have to add a project on the list first? Seriously? Yeah, not happening. I decide what projects I attach to, not someone else.

And window of opportunity is my favourite episode.

Can you show me an image of the first view of BOINC, the one you start BOINC with without any projects visible?

Uninstalled and popped it back on again in case something was different:

But what happens when you long-press your recent apps button (square) while in the choose projects menu in BOINC?

Nothing, just the same as a short press.

Boinc 7.4.41
Andriod 5.0.1

But what kind of device is this on?
What do those triangle, circle and square buttons do?

Having that bit of basic information would be nice, so someone could possibly go look it up.

It's a tablet, the triangle is "back", the circle "home" and the square brings up images of the applications I've recently used, that I can then scroll like a flip book through and just tap to re-open.

Hello, if you are trying to add a project that is not on the list then I believe you do this:

Go to Project > then click on the three buttons to the right of the plus sign, that should bring up Add project by URL > After that add the url of the project as if you are adding it through your BOINC program on you desktop.

I think I had an issue like this before where I was not able to see the Citizen Science Grid project. After I did that it shows up on my BOINC android app.

Hope this helps :) I actually have the opposite problem where a lot of the projects on that list do not run Android apps, but still show up. Hopefully the android app will get more work.

OK, so how do I get project to appear from wherever it is?

That's 8 out of the 13 Android projects.
Does your list extend to another page?

There is no other page, I can scroll to view the rest:

What's the name of one the projects that you're trying to add?

Irrelevant since I cannot add ANY.

And yes i've read the other threads about it, there's no hamburger either on the "buttons" of the device nor boinc itself or anything else. After installing boinc i get this screen and can continue no further:

Boinc 7.4.41
Andriod 5.0.1

I'm off to dinner in a bit. When I return, I expect either to see blood on the inside of the windows of the Cafe, or for everyone here to have made up and joined brotherly at the bar drinking milk. For you all to figure which way to go.

I'm going for a different option. Laters.

@Annie - use Caller Display - and don't answer!!

I usually do Chris :/ don't know WHAT I was thinking but... *render self to heady evolutionary height of pond slime* I know it wasn't something we'd call an intelligent life form that answered the first stupid call :/

Check out these examples of that phone number, and whatever you do, do NOT call them back, it may cost you a fortune. (known scam crap)...

Thanks ET :) I will and I won't... in that order.

Evening Julie and celttooth and Gary, and Zapped and David and TL and Ageless and Dr Who Fan and WezH and Richard and Aurora Borealis and Sirius and Supersleuther and *reduce purpleness with deep breath* everybody else :)

Good evening Anniet :) Bottle of oxygen is here if you need it:)

That can't be a real system, too clean on the inside. No speck of dust anywhere. Impossible.

Maybe it's that new ice-air filtration system I've heard about.

I am getting seriously pissed off with seti@home. Some weeks they can't be bothered to shut down until 10.30 in the morning on Tuesdays their time. Today they have just done it at 7.30am. about time they got their act together I think.

I think we established that it's Jeff Cobb who's the early riser, but I don't know about the other two. We could probably reverse-engineer the staff roster if we tried hard enough...

I was somewhat surprised to get a reply from Matt to a recent email which started

Hi Eric, Jeff, Matt - I don't know who'll be on duty for maintenance today, so "to whoever it may concern"...

Put him down for 23 September ;)

I thought it was Matt who gets things cracking so early in the morning? I'll make an appointment with my Doc, must be coming down with a bit of that CRSAS :)

Can't remember s*** about Seti :)

As for tags, you use tags in XML.
I have titles. :P

Joined the aristocracy, eh? Be careful next time you visit France.

I called them tags in the past, until one day David asked what I was on about. Explained and he came back that they aren't called tags, but titles. Okay.

*bows to Sir Ageless* :)
