1) Message boards : BOINC Manager : how to complete more work (Message 39361) Posted 29 Jul 2011 by trebuin Post: One of the problems I, along with many others have is that when running Boinc on a laptop while user is using it causes the laptop to get really hot. So, I can either tune down the % usage during all operations to get it cooler or opt to keep it from running when I use it. Solution: add a combined option: "while in use, use only X% of CPU" I'll run 100% when not using but probably 50% while using the laptop.
