1) Message boards : Questions and problems : Cannot Attach to Project_Team's Founder Linkage Error
Message 39570 Posted 11 Aug 2011 by Vepide |
Thanks for the reply, I recall now having had to do that before to get a project back into BOINC, just recently in fact as this is a new Win7 re-install. Thought I'd fill my project list with one more so I don't have an empty space in my graphs. |
2) Message boards : Questions and problems : Cannot Attach to Project_Team's Founder Linkage Error
Message 39568 Posted 11 Aug 2011 by Vepide |
There is some sort of bug preventing me from attaching to some new projects and believe the problem lies somewhere in a Users identification with a Team across multiple projects when one has selected to automatically link all new projects to a team. It is as though the projects I attempt to attach to assumes I belong to all BOINC projects and therefore returns the errors below and the project I wish to attach to assumes I have already joined that project...though I cannot login with those user credentials to the projects website. So I've tried creating the account at the web site and attaching within BOIN both with similar results. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An account with that email address already exists and has a different password than the one you entered please vistit the projects web site and follow the instructions there. --------------------------------------------------- From the Project's Website I get a similar error. Can't create account There's already an account with that email address. Click your browser's Back button to try again. |

Ironic that this Wed and Thurs were to be double credit days for MilkyWay@Home for "time lost earlier this summer due to outages". And the project has been down all Thursday, hope we get two more days of double credits. |
4) Message boards : GPUs : System hanging following ~2 min after win boot, following new GPU install

Its gotta be your power supply dude, when those GPUS's kick in to 3D mode they're gonna draw alot more power than sitting at your desktop. As the other poster also stated you seem to be short on memory, getting at least a 4GB package would help keep you out of the swap file and additional IO processing, Also do not let BOINC autostart at bootup, launch BOINC manually after the system has booted....BOINC can put a tremendous strain on other boot-startup processes......Get SYSINTERNALS utilities and use Autoruns to manage your startup programs with. It requires saving anything you uncheck within the Autoruns program which saves it to a file in your root DIR. You could also try updating your BOINC version to at least 6.12.26......I haven't yet installed the 6.12.33 version yet. And I have encountered an ATI driver issue with CCC 11.6 failing WU's causing Computation Errors. |
5) Message boards : GPUs : 2nd GPU of 4870x2 stays in 2d clocks
Message 38832 Posted 8 Jul 2011 by Vepide |
Actually you can try Forcing Maximum Performance on both GPU's from your tray icon, right click your tray icon and select the "Force Maximum Performance Clocks" under the 3D settings sub-menu. Though i dont know of any way or "option to force 3D clocks on the 2nd GPU through app_info.xml or cc_config.xml ?" I have a 4870 X2 also, can run my core to 800 Mhz and that's been stable for three years now, except only one older driver version accepted the full memory overclock without any issues, and current drivers don't seem to allow any memory overclocking for some reason. |
