Thanks coleslaw. Guess I'll abort, since no contact. BTW - I got your reply, and tried to contact - no joy. |

Any idea on the length of maintenance for PG@home? Was unable to upload WUs, and when accessing webpage, message states project temporarily down for maintenance. |

Last outages were Aqua, Milkyway and Seti (despite its weekly outage, it was having scheduler problems hours before that). I know AQUA is in stasis and glad to hear an update for SETI, but what's happening with MW@h? Oh, and thanks for the split off. It's difficult to try to read up on everything that's happened recently, let alone 200 posts ago. Something to consider: Split off at the end of each week??? Keeps things nice and tidy, and much easier to search for information on what was wrong in a given week, versus reading through 200 posts??? Just my $0.02. Paul |

6) Message boards : Questions and problems : Multiple Instances of BOINC Manager
Message 37715 Posted 8 May 2011 by Paul Chism |
On a couple occasions recently, I have noticed that there has been a second BOINC Manager appearing in my Hidden Icons area of Windows7 64-bit Home Premium. I know when I start up, one automatically appears, but somewhere along the line, a second appears. When you mouse over them, one shows how many tasks are running, but the other says "Not connected to a client." When I right-click on the one "not connected" and try to exit, I get the usual shutdown dialog box about stopping all work, just the same as if I were trying to right-click/exit on the instance that has 5 tasks running. Is there any problem with BOINCManager for this to happen, and will it cause anything to ultimately stop crunching? Paul |
7) Message boards : Questions and problems : Pause/Resume Question
Message 37212 Posted 19 Mar 2011 by Paul Chism |
Is there a way to change the "Pause" value? I realize that it will pause it for a certain length, then restart. I checked my messages, and it appears it will Pause for 1 hr., then resume automatically. Other than Suspend or limiting the time when BOINC runs, is there a way to 'pause' longer than an hour, but less than eternity? |
