Posted 15 Feb 2011 by farmer Post: I only know how to install the libraries explicitly named in the Fedora repository. Well, I guess I posted a couple minutes too soon. :) At http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC#Linux I think the following are needed: compat-libstdc++-296.i686 compat-libstdc++-33.i686 compat-libstdc++-33.x86_64 Of course, I now have to wait a day to see if it works since "Einstein@Home Message from server: (reached daily quota of 12 tasks)" --farmer |

Posted 15 Feb 2011 by farmer Post: Einstein is a 32bit project only.... After trying to run my Einstein@Home account on a newly minted Fedora-14 X86_64 system with error code 22, I believe you. So why does the web page at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php claim that Linux/64 is a supported platform for this project? Perhaps it's loosely assumed that if missing libraries are installed, it will run. What libraries, specifically, do I need to install to get this to run on Fedora-14 X86_64? I'm afraid a casual "install the 32-bit libraries" doesn't mean anything to me: I only know how to install the libraries explicitly named in the Fedora repository. If this is not a simple answer, perhaps I should try an actual 64-bit project, instead. Thanks in advance. --farmer |
