TN-Grid appears to be down. The website is down, and attempts to upload finished results files fail with transient HTTP errors.

Universe@home will probably be off line until Monday sometime per posting at BOINC POLAND:
Jak się przed chwilą dowiedziałem, w CAMK dzisiaj była spora awaria elektryczności z winy elektrowni.
Ze względu na te problemy, CAMK zdecydował się na wyłączenie wszystkiego co możliwe do zakończenia napraw.

W związku z tym, serwery Universe@Home pozostaną wyłączone do poniedziałku 24 października.

Power failure at CAMK
« On: October 21, 2022, 17:36»
As I just found out, today there was a large electricity failure at CAMK due to the power plant's fault.
Due to these problems, CAMK decided to disable everything possible to complete the repairs.

Accordingly, the Universe @ Home servers will remain offline until Monday, October 24.

I put it on the main one. (as if someone was reading it)
PS 1 CPU will automatically start counting something else, the other will wait calmly saving energy at home :)

The Universe@home upload server is now up. Scheduler requests fail with "feeder not running" errors.

Climateprediction.net says that it needs plenty of memory per core as seen in https://www.climateprediction.net/getting-started/system-requirements/.

10) Message boards : GPUs : Do not use Nvidia GeForce driver 397.31 (Message 86107)
Posted 5 May 2018 by Jesse Viviano
Post:
Do not use Nvidia GeForce driver 397.31. It is known to crash from time to time, and when it does crash, it stays crashed until either the computer is rebooted, or the crashed Nvidia service(s) that are part of the driver are restarted. While the driver is crashed, results immediately error out with a compute error. This therefore causes BOINC clients to continue to generate loads of compute errors. Links to the hotfix driver version 397.55 that fix the bugs are found at http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4661. An alternative is to downgrade to version 391.55.

I found a workaround for Cosmology@home's DNS outage. Define the domains "www.cosmologyathome.org" and "cosmologyathome.org" as 194.57.221.140 in your local DNS server (for home users, this is likely in your home broadband router) or your hosts file. I used VirusTotal as a poor man's passive DNS, and found the old IP address as 194.57.221.140 for both domains.

BOINC needs to be made NUMA aware especially now since AMD's Ryzen processors appear to act as if they are dual CPU socket systems according to https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Processors/AMD-Ryzen-and-Windows-10-Scheduler-No-Silver-Bullet. Basically, current Ryzen processors are structured into two core complexes, or CCXs for short, consisting of 4 cores per CCX. Tightly interlocked multithreaded workloads will suffer massive latencies if some of the threads are spread across the CCXs because . Loosely interlocked multithreaded workloads will benefit from multiple cores because they do not spend much time communicating between threads. This work will also benefit Intel Xeon processors that are set up to use cluster on die mode as seen in http://www.anandtech.com/show/8423/intel-xeon-e5-version-3-up-to-18-haswell-ep-cores-/4, any multi CPU socket system, and old Core 2 Quads (which have two dual core CPU dies in one package).

Think of a possible bright side: that Dotster could be trying to not do something similar to what Symantec did by issuing credentials to the wrong entities. If you don't know what I mean, Symantec issued several bad security certificates in 2015 according to https://arstechnica.com/security/2015/09/symantec-employees-fired-for-issuing-rogue-https-certificate-for-google/ and 2017 according to https://arstechnica.com/security/2017/01/already-on-probation-symantec-issues-more-illegit-https-certificates/, and the initial internal audit that Symantec conducted in regards to the bad certificates in 2015 failed to catch many bad certificates according to https://arstechnica.com/security/2015/10/still-fuming-over-https-mishap-google-gives-symantec-an-offer-it-cant-refuse/. Think about the problems that could happen if Dotster accidentally let a fraudster get the bakerlab.org domain if it was not careful.
