Minor issue detected on a Mac intel running macOS Big Sur 11.7.10, with French, Deutsch and Italian translations:
In advance view, under activity menu, no 'marker' are displayed to indicate which option is selected (run always or based on preferences).

No issues on this Mac with English language, and no translation issues on a Mac Apple Silicon running macOS Sonoma 14.5.

Since upgrading to BOINC client 8.0.2, PrimeGrid project no longer detect our GPU on Apple Silicon Mac (running macOS Sonoma).
I dont't know if there is a BOINC issue or PrimeGrid issue.

- This version solve the not detected GPU issue.
- Screensaver is now running, except for Einstein@home. BM screensaver display this error message: Could not connect to screensaver of application Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GBT, long).

I don't know if there is a BM screensaver issue or Einstein@home issue because I don't run others projects with screensaver option.
With "Show graphics", Einstein@home graphics are correctly displayed, we can close the graphics window by using "stop graphics", but the close button (Apple's red button) is not usable.

I saw that BM version 8.0.0 is available to download for Mac, and I installed it on my MacBook Pro M3 running under macOS Sonoma 14.4.

A Major bug appears with all projects using GPU, with these error messages:
Lun 25 mar 06:06:04 2024 | Einstein@Home | Application uses missing Apple M3 Pro GPU
Lun 25 mar 06:06:04 2024 | | app version refers to missing GPU type Apple M3 Pro
Lun 25 mar 06:06:04 2024 | PrimeGrid | Application uses missing Apple M3 Pro GPU
Lun 25 mar 06:06:04 2024 | | app version refers to missing GPU type Apple M3 Pro

I revert back to BM 7.24.3 without any error.

I'd like to see a smarter installer!

I normally keep two Mac user accounts logged in at all times. I only want BOINC to run in one of them. But EVERY TIME there's an update, I have to go into Users & Groups preferences and tell it NOT to launch BOINC on the other Mac user account.

Annoying and unnecessary!


I agree,

An option button with 2 choices will be nice:
1 - Launch at login for All users
2 - Launch at login for Current user only
