OK so i confirmed that Einstein@home finally works so thank's Ageless for the help. And I found a solution for the PrimeGrid problem which was downgrading the nVidia driver to an older version because the newest one is somehow flawed. So it took me about 1:30 to get it done (it's probably because I'm kind of a newfag when it comes to Linux) and it looks like the WU's are computing much longer than before but I don't want to jinks it.

So thanks for help.

Ageless:

Einstein is a 32bit project only, meaning that 32bit applications will be sent to 32bit and 64bit hosts. However, whereas this works out of the box with Windows, for most Linux distros you will have to install 32bit compatibility library files. For doing so on Ubuntu, see http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC#Ubuntu

Thanks for the advice I honestly didn't know this. I thought it would work out of the box just like with windows.
What I noticed that right after the transition to 64-bit even the small amount of Einstein WU's I got Errored whiled counting so I hope that this will change now after I installed those packages but I'll have to wait for the WU to crunch or error out because I installed the packages yesterday and I got my first WU today so I'll report back...

As for the PrimeGrid problem. I didn't post in any other forums about this because I thought it was a problem with my graphics as I wasn't exactly careful while changing the cooler. Therefore I thought somebody would recommend some application to test my graphics for counting errors.

PS I already have access to the PC so if anyone requires Logs I can supply them.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
so first up I want to say that I looked around for solutions and didn't find them... second I have read the "How to post in this forum topic" and i want to apologize but i don't have access right now to the problematic PC so I won't be able to post any logs.

So first up would be my CUDA problem... recently I decided to start crunching Seti and Einstein packets again not on win XP as before but rather on Linux Ubuntu (10.10 - 32bit at first then later 64bit but the same problem) so after install of Boinc I connect to Seti and Einstein (GPU was recognised by boinc...) I find out Seti CUDA don't work on linux/mac... ok no problem so I connect to PrimeGrid which supports CUDA on Linux. I got work (set it to only get work for the GPU) but the problem is that all (and I mean ALL) the work units got the "Error while counting" message... some ran only a few seconds some ran about 10 to 15 minutes... but i got nothing done...(after the 64bit installed I connected to GPUgrid just to see whether it's a problem of the GPU or prime grid itself but nVidia 8600 is too slow for it so I will report back how it goes...)
So right now I'm kinda worried that I fscked up my graphics card when I was replacing the active cooler for a passive one (the passive one works OK the temperature doesn't go above 74C when at full load). So I'm wondering whether somebody knows how to test if my graphics is OK because everything else works as before...

My second problem is about Einstein@home and Seti@home... as I said earlier I was crunching Seti and Einstein for about 2 years on XP and everything was OK... now (after 6 months of inactivity) when I installed Ubuntu 32 bit I got a shortage on Seti WU's (I got about 2-3 the first time and about 2-4 more a week after that) but paradoxically after a re-install of Ubuntu (64bit this time) the card changed... I get all the Seti WU's I want but Einstein get's only 2 a day (in Messages it says "Einstein@home Server reached max. daily quota (2) per day" or something like that... again sorry but I'm not able to copy the original message right now) which didn't happen with while on 32-bit.

So for those of you willing to help, my HW is as follows:
Intel Pentium 4 (extreme edition) 3.2GHZ HT
Intel DesktopBoard 915 PBL
2gb of ram
nVidia GeForce 8600GTS 512mb vram

and SW:
Ubuntu 10.10 (with all the latest updates)
Boinc manager version 6.10.58
And the latest graphics drivers

PS: If you can't help me without a screen of the logs/messages I can deliver them in about 3 days...

Thanks in advance.
