Hi.
You are running the command as root.
Don't.
Try it as the unprivileged user that owns the script. Also, the proper option is --get_state , at least for the 5.10.28 client. Check it with:
$./boinc_cmd --help
It works for me.

I have tried running the client, running as daemon, running the manager, whith the same result, for the last 48 hours.
The problem is that boinc does not actually send any dns query. I have checked this by sniffing all my nics (ethernet and wifi) whith wireshark as root.
Rebooting the machine didnĀ“t help. My internet connection works fine, no problem with firefox, thunderbird, konqueror or wget. A remarcable exception is opera. Opera started misbehaving alike, giving bogus network errors instantly. I wonder what boinc and opera can have in common.
I've run
./boinc_cmd --get_state
and all three projects show this same error:
nrpc_failures: 3
Could this be an rpc problem? Does boinc need some rpc related daemon runnig? I am quite puzzled and prepared to try anything (other than switching to Vista ;-)
Thanks in advance.
