Hi,

I'm running 7.16.5 (x64).

My computer is set up to always remain on while plugged in, although the screen turns off after 5 minutes. Prior to installing/running BOINC, tapping any key or the mousepad would be sufficient to turn the screen on and start working. With the BOINC manager running, eventually the computer will become unresponsive when I try to get the screen back on.

I have set BOINC to suspend when I am working on the computer and there is not an issue for several hours of running with no input on the computer, but every morning and, sometimes after a long time away from the computer, it becomes unresponsive, giving me no alternative but to reboot in order to get the screen back on.

My power settings are to suspend the screen after 5 minutes and to never go to sleep while plugged in (I have different settings for when the computer is under battery power, but BOINC settings are to not run under battery power). I have double checked those. It is running at 30% because my CPU was overheating (with the latest update, this may not be a problem, but I haven't checked yet).

Unfortunately, I cannot copy the event log prior to the problem because it seems to reset upon startup. If there is a way to get earlier information from the log, I'm happy to go find it.

Details on the system:
Intel Core i5-8250U @ 1.6 GHz 1.80 GHz
Windows 10 Home v1903, Build 18362.778
Manufactured by Acer

Thanks,

Rick
