Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately event viewer doesn't give any information about the cause of the crash (only thing i see is that the last shutdown was unexpected (..) ).
Looks like indeed somehow client_state.xml was totally gone with the reboot after crash. The previous tasks are nowhere to be found in client_state.xml. Computer was working hard last night though with BOINC full speed and downloading lots of stuff which can be a big strain on the system. I remember something similar happening before about a year ago. Maybe change the newsgrabber as I suspect that is the culprit (was using an old GrabIt program).
I will just see this as an unfortunate incident and try not to make it happen again. Checked the drive and no errors on it.
What should I do with the 'lost tasks'? Just leave them and let them time out? Deattach/reattach from Seti@home?

Hi there,
This morning I noticed that overnight my computer had a nice 'blue screen' Windows crash and restarted.
It seems that somehow BOINC lost some data, as I was attached to 3 projects (Einstein@home, Seti@home and AQUA) and while I had 2 of those projects on 'No new tasks' Einstein and Aqua it now wasn't set to 'No new tasks' anymore resulting in lots of downloads.
Also all the previous pre-crash tasks were no longer visible in the Tasks tab.
I can deal with the flood of unneeded tasks, but my real question is: I can see that the SETI@home tasks are still there (in the /projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu directory). Is there any way I can make BOINC see these tasks again and start processing them?

Basic info on system: Vista64, i940 CPU, 460GTX NVidia card.
