Any idea when the servers will be back up? I've got 8 WU's finished that need to report.

I see that the database server is down again. Let’s just hope that it won’t be down all weekend again.

IT IS ALMOST CERTANILY A FALSE POSITIVE! This has happened many time to many Boinc projects over the last 10 years. They have always been false positives. The best thing to do is find out how to exclude Boinc from these scans in that AV program and exclude it. Be sure to exclude the Boinc folders in both the “Program” folder and in the “ProgranData” folder.

Thanks, I am presently running Milkyway as a backup project. A quick fix doesn't sound promising.

I hate to be a nudge, but, does anyone have any idea when the repairs will be finished and the site back up? I am almost out of work.

Is Seti down? I have 5 finished tasks that have completed, but, not reported. The zip files are stuck in the transfer tab. The Seti website also seems to be down.

I wonder if they are even working on getting the CPDN servers back up and running or do they have to wait for Monday to get into the server room and access the damage?

A slight change in the responsiveness of the CPDN site. When I click the “Accounts”, “Help Desk”, “User Forum”, or “Team” button I not get the message :

“Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /cpdnboinc/team_display.php on this server.

Apache Server at climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk Port 80”

Past attempts to access these pages have just resulted in a no connection time out message from the browser. So there does seem to be some life there, we are just not being let in yet.

Part of the CPDN site is up again. The “Homepage” and the “News” page are responding. The “Account” page and the Message Boards are still unresponsive. Zip file uploads are still not going through. Considering the backlog of zips waiting to upload after 6 days, the server may just be overloaded.

All CPDN sites are off line.

There is currently an issue with the infrastructure rack on which the virtual machines of the project resides. OeRC IT support is currently looking into this. All main project CPDN BOINC services are currently offline. We will let you know when we have more information on the cause and on the restoration time.

CPDN beta site is also non-responsive.

I recently reinstalled Boinc Manager with the VirtualBox when updating to 7.6.9 64bit. I noticed that it installed an old, outdated version of VirtualBox (4.3.12). File hippo update manager tells me that the current version of Virtual Box is 5.0.4. Version 4.3.12 is more than a year old and may be insecure. Is there any compelling reason to stay with old version or should I update to the latest version as my update manager suggests?

I thought that we switched over the VM servers because they were more stable and reliable.

Yes, part of the site is back up. I also can access the message boards and my account page, but, the server status page is still inaccessible. Also the site is still not excepting trickles.

It is now early Friday morning in the U.K. If they don’t get the problems fixed by end of business today does that mean that they will be shut out of the server room at OERC until Monday morning?

At least the zip files are uploading properly...

They are? Lucky you... :-) I've been getting the dreaded "Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down" message for the last 48-hours plus. :-(

Yes, one of my hadcm3n WU’s finished overnight and the zip files uploaded just fine. Of course, the WU won’t be able to report until the outage is over. That makes 2 that I have sitting on my machines that are “ready to report”. Hopefully they will get it sorted out soon as I now have an vacant core that I am running MalariaControl on until I can get new work from CP.
