1) Message boards : Questions and problems : merge or delete hosts (Message 23883)

...If I click details, it tells me "Host xxxx has overlapping lifetime (16 Feb 2009 - 24 Mar 2009), (2 Mar 2009 - 23 Mar 2009)".

Wie haste dat denn hingekriegt? :-)

1. dual-boot systems e.g. Linux and Windows
2. two instances of BOINC are running, necessary if the BOINC-scheduler isn't running correct, or the "work fetcher" does crazy things.

Of course, they have overlapping lifetime. They have been created about the same time! I think this message is a little bit stupid, isn't it?

I don't think so. Normally, duplicate host entries are generated when you install a new version of BOINC, so the first one's lifetime should end exactly where the other's begins.

Normally? O.k. then there are many abnormal modes of using BOINC possible (see 1. and 2.)

So, what is this silly merge thing good for, if I can't merge any kind of duplicate hosts? Any ideas about that?

Sorry, not for your case, but it works for others.

Hmm, it works only for a few (mergeable) computers, and it doen't work for me too.

No, there are no higher CPU-bound processes running....

....but i !! didn't !! install Boinc as a service (protected mode), so Boinc was started by the manager in the autostart-group (the boinc setup was doing so)

Now, i have hacked a Boinc-Service for myself (with my level of (none)"security"), and if Boinc is started as a service the benchmark works as usual.

Hi,

i just updated to 6.2.18 on my machine with Vista64 (Intel Quad-Core, 8 Gig RAM) ... and 4 of 5 benchmarks crashed. The tasks are running without error.

The one benchmark with success had a very (s)low performace?

On another machine with WinXP-64bit (same chipset, processor, but only 2 Gig RAM) the benchmarks (and the tasks) are running very well.

So i don't know:
Is there an error with "too much" memory, or with Vista(64)??

Try:

wx-config --libs --static=yes

and as a result you should get a list of the libraries with path-info.
If you get a warning (?!) you have to install the !!_static_!! version (devel libs) of wxWidgets.

Unicode? Try:
wx-config --libs --static=yes --unicode=yes
If you get a list of libraries you have to use:
./configure --enable-unicode [and other opts]
in the other case you !!_cannot_!! use the --enable-unicode option.
