BOINC 6.10.58 released to public

Posted 31 May 2010 by MARTIN Post: Dear Friends: I installed BOINC 6.10.56 on my Quad-CPU HP workstation with an NVIDIA GeFORCE 8800GTS GPU. OS is Windows 7-64 bits, NVIDIA driver version is the latest, 197.45. Unfortunately, when requesting new tasks for GPU, Milkyway@home replies: "Message from server: No work sent, Your computer has no ATI GPU, Your NVIDIA GPU lacks the needed compute capability (1.3, required for double precision math" I don't see why and where there is a problem: my GPU is listed as CUDA 3000-compatible. Please help. |

BOINC 6.10.56 released

Posted 31 May 2010 by MARTIN Post: Thank you: your advice proved effective. I installed version 6.10.56 on both my HP workstations, one with an NVIDIA GPU and one with an ATI GPU. Both now run fine, but the NVIDIA GPU alone is compatible with the Milkyway@Home project that requires double-precision calculations. |

Posted 30 May 2010 by MARTIN Post: Dear friends: I just started installing version 6.10.56 on my computer, an HP xW8600 workstation with 4 processors under Windows 7-64 bits. Sorry to report that the installation fails as soon as it starts, with message: "Error reading setup initialization file". Please let me know what to do, or fix the error if it's in your installation script. Until I hear from you I'll reinstall version 6.10.18. Daniel MARTIN |
