The next version of BOINC (currently testing as v6.12.4) will allow you to start the Manager with the hostname, username, and password as parameters on the command line to achieve what you want.

Perfect! Thanks! I've waited this long ... I can wait for 6.12.4!

I run the BOINC client on two computers ... one to do the actual work, and a laptop where I just use the GUI as a convenient way to check on the work computer. I have successfully connected the laptop to the work computer using Advanced->Select Computer many times.

However, I would like to have the laptop GUI automatically connect to the work computer's client as soon as I bring the GUI up, instead of having to select and logon each time. Security is a secondary concern since this is on a private network.

Is there some XML file where I can store the name and password of the work computer, so the laptop GUI will just connect there instead of trying to connect to a non-functional local client first?

4) Message boards : Questions and problems : CPU Time column missing from Tasks in 6.6.36 (Message 25607)

The order of the columns in the Tasks tabs are
Project - Application - Name - Elapsed - Progress - To completion - Report deadline - Status.
If a column is collapsed you can usually see the cursor single vertical bar (<-|->) become a double bar (<-||->) as the cursor is passed between columns at the location of a hidden column on the title row. When the cursor is double bar left click the mouse and drag the column open.

Thank you. When you install 6.6.36, the new column is collapsed by default. Maybe that should be adjusted.

It was replaced by an 'Elapsed' time column in BOINC v6.6.16

I think the developers intended this as a feature, but YMMV.

I don't have an Elapsed time column either. It's beginning to look less like a feature and more like a bug.

Since I installed 6.6.36 (WinXPPro SP3), the CPU Time column is missing from the Tasks display.

Is this a bug or a feature?

I'd like to see Time To Next Checkpoint on the tasks tab. That way I'd know the best time to interrupt it to do backups, etc, so I lose the least amount of work.
