Well, that didn't last for long this time either. Every upload fails with "transient HTTP error". A couple of more stuck uploads here, and I will not be able to get any new tasks. No panic yet though, I still have 54 tasks in the cache. All are resends (_2-_6) |

All uploaded tasks suddenly reported. No new work yet though. Some progress at least.... Edit: Stats export is now happening. BoincStats is now showing that WCG is alive. |

In reply to Dr Who Fan's message of 13 Apr 2026:I can access forums but can't upload completed tasks I have on my Android phones.Yeah, I obviously didn't have the ability to both read, and understand what I was reading, at the same time. :-) Sorry for that Dr Who. |

WCG site works fine for me. The certificate is valid from 2 september 2025 02:00:00 and expires 3 september 2026 01:59:59. So, it must have been something else. |

In reply to robsmith's message of 10 Apr 2026:Well, I have't got a clue of what year. However, who's in a hurry? :-)we expect completion between April 10th and April 11th, but no earlier than 18:00 UTC on April 10th |

Update from Dylan (The "tomorrow" he's referring to, is likely today, since he posted yesterday in his TZ) https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=710613 Blocked traffic at the load balancer for maintenance, expected to last until at least tomorrow 18:00 UTC as there is shuffling of shards and files to go along with a new build of the workunit creators and some fixes to the BOINC build. Hopefully, will fix the drought/sporadic MCM1 availability and get validation up and running. I was able to do quite a bit of scripted validation backfill during previous outages since we rolled out the new stack, and test db_dump for stats, but as many have surmised sync is still a problem between the two systems which affects reporting of results on the website. Will have more info in a longer update on the lab website "Operational Status" tab after this round of fixes settles and we're hopefully in a better place. Edit: New update on the "Operational Status" page: April 9, 2026 BOINC web traffic has been blocked at the load balancer for maintenance, all BOINC scheduler, downloads, uploads will be met with HTTP 503 codes until maintenance is completed - we expect completion between April 10th and April 11th, but no earlier than 18:00 UTC on April 10th to allow projected file transfers and migration of sharded database table records between citus postgres workers to complete. We will update here and on the forums if we expect extended maintenance over the weekend. Volunteers should expect that a successful rollout during this maintenance window will increase workunit availability, and put another dent in the validation backlog. |

In reply to Hadrian's message of 6 Apr 2026:Presumably until the DB syncing happens we are flying blind as it were ?Yes, flying pretty blind. However since I use Efmer's BoincTasks, I'm not nearly as blind as people that only use the BOINC Manager. BoincTasks makes it possible through different settings, to keep a local database of sorts, so you can track your crunched tasks, as well as many other BOINC things. Efmer also have "TThrottle to keep your CPU and GPU temperatures controlled." Look here: BOINCTASKS & TTHROTTLE The best way to use BOINC |

In reply to Hadrian's message of 4 Apr 2026:Somewhat puzzled credits are very slightly going up but pending validation totals not changing…time is also going up .The DB that shows the Results Page and other statistics pages, are no longer the "working" DB. The "working" DB is now on PostgreSQL database, and the different DB's are not synced yet. That will probably not happen until every other issue is solved. I do not expect that to happen in the near future. It can take months IMO, bearing in mind all the problems that still keep popping up. |

WCG is back, with corrected Credit data. It's a bit hard to get new work yet, since everybody is hammering the server for new work. Uploading, and reporting of finished tasks works. |

In reply to bill's message of 30 Mar 2026:Updating account info. That is an old issue, which has been reported several times in the WCG forum. With some luck, even that issue will be solved, when they are finished with the 6+ months old, and still ongoing migration to Nibi, from Graham. The whole system is totally crazy now. There are tons of issues waiting to be solved. |

In reply to Dave's message of 30 Mar 2026:Probably only for the forum, and the forum connection to BOINC, and the DB. Otherwise I think all old posts could not be searched or read, and the credits and other stats, users have could not be seen.Yeah, but why add a project that haven't had any work for years, and are unlikely to ever come back? :-)One could also ask, "Why keep the infrastructure running when there is no intention to revive the project?" |

In reply to Dave's message of 30 Mar 2026:Still possible to add it by putting in https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ . Not accepting new users so you can only add it if you have an account.Yeah, but why add a project that haven't had any work for years, and are unlikely to ever come back? :-) |

In reply to PixelComposer's message of 30 Mar 2026:I havent done this for quite some time. Trying to get back into it. I've downloaded and installed Bionic but when trying to add a project I'm not seeing SETI@Home as a project name. Is it under a different name? Not sure where to go from here.Seti@Home has been gone since 31 March 2020, when it went into what they called a "hibernation". It's unlikely that SETI@home will ever come back again. See: SETI@home hibernation |

There's crazy stuff going on now. All of a sudden a newly created host of mine (created on March 21), is showing in BOINC an Host Average Credits of 1 703 119 514 (1 billion 703 million 119 thousand 514) Not bad for a host that only been crunching around 400 MCM1 tasks, especially since the Host credits is only 30 879,3 BOINC Credits. Edit: I'm rich, and getting richer with every update. I think I'm going to buy myself a small country soon. |

Problem fixed. WCG is working again. However the credit issues are still to be resolved. A reply from Dylan, via Igor: fixed - I introduced a bug with a new build of the scheduler meant to fix the slow queries hammering disk |

WCG has gone mad, and dumping tasks for everyone. Set NNT for WCG, until they have fixed the problem. See this post, and forward: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=710259 |

WCG is back(ish). New work is available. Don't expect it to be perfect though. Lots of stuff is not working as they should. |

In reply to Dave's message of 23 Mar 2026:Yeah, but after, or during, the latest migration from Graham cloud to Nibi, August 29, 2025, they decided to complicate the system even more. They thought they could easily improve on the "old", partly IBM, partly BOINC system, but it sure wasn't/isn't easy. That's the main reason why WCG haven't returned fully yet. It's been 6 months; 3 weeks; 2 days now, since then, and IMO we're far, from a stable system yet.I think they have built a way too complicated system, compared to the standard BOINC setup. I fear that they need 24/7 tech support to keep it running. Too many points of failure by the looks of it.I have long thought that on leaving IBM they should have reverted to a standard BOINC server installation. One only flogs a dead horse for so long before giving up. Just reading through the Operational Status messages from August 2025, make me dizzy..... |
