503: Load Balancer is unable to route your request to an available server, most likely there is an issue in our infra that we are working to resolve.
BOINC services and the webserver are different backends, so one may be still be handling traffic while the other is down, and in the case of the BOINC backend it is also possible the servers are temporarily too busy to handle your request at this time, and trying again shortly will work as normal.

The "Results name" heading, is now working when clicking on the link, on the Results page. It finally shows the WU.
The "Status" heading though, still does not show the task result, when clicking on the link.
The "CPU time/Elapsed time" heading, now shows both values.
The "Claimed Credit/Granted Credit" heading, still only shows the Granted Credit.

So, there is some progress.....

Payments with VISA cards in Sweden, also seems to be impossible now. Maybe the same in other countries too.

I do have a smart TV, but it's never connected to the Internet. I only connected it to download updates, and then immediately disconnected it again. There will not be any more updates available, so no need to ever connect it again to the Internet.

Apart from smart TV's, I'm also allergic to smartphones. I have a simple 4G phone, that is totally dumb :-)

In reply to Jord's message of 20 May 2026:
I've finally gotten an answer from Eric:
We had some unauthorized access to the machines through a user account whose password hadn't been changed in 20 years (and was probably reused on other sites that had had data breaches). For unrelated reasons we aren't able to start an audit of the website security before 5/26, so the safest action was to bring it down until we can do so.

If things become difficult there is a chance I may decide to keep it down.
It must have been more than a simple user account, to be able to access the site in a malicious way. Or perhaps there was a security issue with the site, making it possible to hack it, through a simple user account.

Well, with the forum down, the team doesn't have to bother about all the complaints that people post. They already know that the system is in a mess. :-)

Nice to see a new project, Mapping Arthritis Markers.
Only one problem. downloaded some cancer markers (successfully) then it downloaded 101 arthritis markers all failed.

Edit. Downloads were at 11:15(BST) this morning.
I think that you need to install one of the newer Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022, or even Visual C++ Redistributable 2022, to make MAM work. I just installed Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022 on one of my Windows 8.1 computers. Maybe it works for MAM on Windows 8.1. I think that Visual C++ Redistributable 2022 package is too new for Windows 8.1.

See the following part of the Operational Status page, from January 7, 2026:

Windows build of MDMG/MAM1 v7.08 successfully completed, deployment to beta30 in progress. We may have to include a large number of DLLs including pre-built LibTorch CPU libraries at first. These range in system requirements for Windows 10/11 64-bit with Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022, but for this initial build that successfully ran the test suite for the LibTorch backend in powershell on Windows 10, we expect that Visual C++ Redistributable 2022 is required. We've documented all third-party licenses (all permissive: BSD, MIT, Apache, NCSA, Zlib), and are hopeful a full static build will follow. System requirements are expected to be 4GB RAM or more, about ~300MB disk for application + DLLs, and we will be running the Windows build exclusively in beta for now starting sometime this week, and ramping up with the Linux build as we analyze first results.

BoincStats BAM is the account manager, and you probably attached WCG through that. That's why it's greyed out in BOINC manager. The only real reason why it should be greyed out, is that you haven't attached WCG through the BOINC manager.

To be clear, you're saying by just having BoincStatsBam! attached when installing a project through BOINC means the project was attached through that manager?

BoincStatsBam! is still attached. How do I remove a project if not through BOINC? Where is the BoincStatsBAM! interface/options for removing a project? I see none.

What if I choose "Stop Using BoincStatsBam!" (the only option I see).

I'm obviously missing something here.
How you do it, is a question I can't answer. I have never used any account manager at all, and the day will never come when I will. You have to wait for someone else who knows how to detach WCG from BAM.

Interesting. I've never installed any project "through" BAM that I'm aware of. I've installed projects through BOINC while "BoincStatsBAM!" was attached - is that the same thing? I've also similarly installed other projects and their "Remove" option is not greyed out. The only management tool I've ever used is BOINC Manager and very recently boinccmd. If BAM is a separate app, it is not installed on my computer.

Thanks.

Windows11, Boinc Manager 8.2.8

In my BoincManager, Advanced View, Projects tab the option to "Remove" is not available (grayed out) for World Community Grid. It's available for every other project.

I've tried to remove the project via BOINCCMD (which is relatively new to me) but get "Error -1". I think I have the right URL - it works OK for "nomorework" and "allowmorework" options on the "--project" parameter. I'm running boinccmd in a cmd window with admin priv.

C:\Program Files\BOINC>boinccmd --project https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ nomorework [worked OK]

C:\Program Files\BOINC>boinccmd --project https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ allowmorework [worked OK]

C:\Program Files\BOINC>boinccmd --project https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ detach
Operation failed: Error -1

Can someone point me to a list of BOINCCMD error codes? I've rummaged for a list of error codes but came up empty on "-1".
If the Remove option is greyed out, it ususally means that you have attached through a account manager, such as BAM or some other account manager. You must detach from the project from the account manager you attached it through.

It's pointless to argue with this "kasdashdfjsah" person, since he is not interested in anything other than trolling you with arguments that AI is constructing from your replies. It's all just another example of AI hallucinations.

In other words, you are not having a conversation with a real person.

This is just the beginning of how some people will use AI, when they can't come up with their own arguments. AI, and AI hallucinations will destroy not only forums like this, but it will destroy the entire society. I'm glad that I'm old enough to not be alive when AI have destroyed the fabric of society, and normal person to person interactions.
