All seems to be fine after removing the old Tasks. I guess I should have taken note of what they were before removing them...

Ok, so I feel a bit stupid, but not sure why this was causing BOINC to crash. I Aborted all the active tasks (though this would happen upon reinstall) and BOINC seems to be running ok with new tasks. Will leave it running a few hours and post again.

I have an EVGA NEX750 B its about 5 years old (750W obv).

I thought it likely wasn't the power supply as I haven't had any issues running Adobe, or playing games while streaming and various other tasks.

I already did this using the Core Temp program I found a link to in this forum. The temp never went over 50 C which didn't seem like it should be too hot to me. and is the same as I get when running some games on my PC which have never caused a crash.

Hey,

When I run BOINC, a few seconds after it begins to process tasks the computer crashes/reboots with no BSOD or any other warnings.

I posted a while ago on the forums and got no reply, I was chasing the same problem but thought it was linked to some items in event viewer that were apparently red herrings.

I have updated all my drivers, reinstalled BOINC several times, checked the health of my memory and processor, checked the running temps of the processor (all normal when the computer crashes/restarts) but still seem to be no closer to finding the problem.

Anyone know what else I should be looking at or how else to diagnose. Haven't been able to run BOINC for a few months now.

Ok, so apparently "The driver detected an internal driver error on \Device\VBoxNetLwf." is a red herring, but i have very little else to go on. All i know is that when i run Boinc my computer crashes (no BSOD) then reboots. If i dont run Boinc everything is fine. Anyone able to help at all? any more information needed? I want to be able to run bionic again as I have done so for years and have never had any issues.

For roughly the last week Boinc has been causing my computer to crash and restart. I'm not sure exactly when this started as I was away for a few days. It took me a while to isolate the problem to Boinc, but in Microsoft event viewer and I noticed the error "The driver detected an internal driver error on \Device\VBoxNetLwf." So after seeing this I assumed it was VirtualBox and shut down Boinc. I have made sure all my drivers are up to date and even updated VirtualBox but still when I run Boinc the computer will crash. I have noticed it seems to be almost as soon as computing starts, but then i am not always at the computer when it happens.

The projects I am running are GPUGRID, LHC@home, Rosetta@home and World Community Grid.

Hey,

I have a film production degree, and my brother runs a small production company and has a similar degree. I have been using Boinc for a long time, but am always amazed at how few people know about or run it. I recently wondered what promotional videos Boinc had, and did a quick serach to find only very technical video's or another promotional video again seemly directed at people who already knew what Boinc was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--Vy5ee7DwE&t=57s

I feel i could help make something a little better that might be good to share on facebook to all your less tecky friends that would help them realise what Boinc is and why they should be using it. I have several ideas in mind, but many of them would need interview footage (preferably in at least least in HD) . Also i would need the ability to reach out to some of the main projects to see if they have any good footage (or ideas of footage) that could help people visualise the different projects as i think this is important for people less technically minded. For both of these it would be good to reach out to someone official in Boinc, both to find any interview footage that may be already about (or to film some more) and for official record to reach out to other Boinc projects. So i thought i would start here.

I would obviously do all this for free, and I'm sure my brother would help me with any equipment needed (if any is even needed) . If anyone has seen any videos that have been made before that i missed, or has any good ideas, all will be appreciated.
