Don't you have one system with only a single GPU that you can test with if you see the same behaviour?

Unfortunately not Jord ... :( ... All my Box's have Dual 4870's or Dual 4850 X2's or Dual GTX Series 200 Cards ... Some people just have no luck at all ... :P

I have 2 5870's coming & they should be here tomorrow, I'll pull 1 Card out of the Box their going into & see if the boinc.exe still uses the CPU excessively & get back on it tomorrow or the next day if the 5870's don't come tomorrow ...

I'd do it now but I don't like to pull the Video Cards unless absolutly necessary, they can be a Bitch to get running again once you pull them when their in Dual Configurations. I've spent as much as 12 hr's getting them to run right once I've pulled some of them ...

2 ATI 4870 Single Core Video Cards in 1 Box & a Single Core 280 and a Double Core 295 in the other Box ... Do you need their Serial Numbers too ... ;P

I know it doesn't mean anything to the running of BOINC but it looks wrong to me, but then that's just me I guess ..

I noticed this on 2 Different Box's that are both Win XP Pro 64-Bit Box's.

Any GPUs on those systems? If so, which kind?
Else, which projects do you run? Do you see the extra load on any specific project (aka, like Seti@Home with a VLAR on the GPU could do that)?

Something else I noticed with Client 6.10.13 is that at the end of the Status String in the BOINC Manager it shows 2 )) instead of 1 ) > Running (0.28 CPUs + 1.00 NVIDIA GPUs (device 2)) ...

Normal closure for an embedded extra ( .. I've made all bold in your message.

I'm running ATI 4870's on 1 Box & NVIDIA GTX 280 & 295 on the other Box. Both GPU's are running Collatz Wu's & the CPU's are runing EDGeS@Home Wu's.

I don't see the Double )) on the end of the String in the 6.10.11 Client, only the 6.10.13 Client ...

I have BOINC Client 6.10.11 & 6.10.13 installed on all my Box's, something I noticed with both Client is the boinc.exe will use up to 25% of the CPU or 1 full Core. This goes on continually, it drops to 0% CPU usage and then will jump as high as 25%. I noticed this on 2 Different Box's that are both Win XP Pro 64-Bit Box's. I haven't checked the other Box's yet to see if they show the same boinc.exe CPU Usage.

Something else I noticed with Client 6.10.13 is that at the end of the Status String in the BOINC Manager it shows 2 )) instead of 1 ) > Running (0.28 CPUs + 1.00 NVIDIA GPUs (device 2)) ...

Hey Jord, I got it figured out finally, what I had to do was:

1-First use the 64-Bit Client v6.3.21 Installer to Un-install the installed version of Client v6.3.21
2-Then Install a 32-Bit Client Version of v5.10.45
3-Then Install a 32-Bit Client Version of v6.3.21

There may be other ways of doing it but thats what worked for me, I was able to install the 32-Bit Version Clients files where I wanted them to be doing it that way too ... :)

What happens when you first uninstall the other version? Can you then install the 32bit version into the same directories?

Thats how I was trying to do it but it wasn't working, it would uninstall the 64-bit version but wouldn't install the 32-bit version ...

I tried last night to install Windows XP 32-Bit Client v6.3.21 onto a Windows XP 64-Bit OS that already had the Windows XP 64-Bit Client v6.3.21 Client already installed on to it. It wouldn't install no matter what I did though, it would appear to be installing but where the files should have been there was nothing there.

That said I need to include that the Boinc Directory's are not where the Default Directory's normally go. I always put them on another Hard Drive & in it's own Partition. So I don't know if thats throwing off the installer or not, it doesn't seem to keep me from Upgrading to a new version of the client though if I use a 64-Bit client.

Your Right, the Wu took 1800 Seconds to do, using a Core the whole time & then it reported it as 210 Seconds to do and Awarded it 1.38 Credits ... 0_o

Does anybody know anything about this Project & how to get the Wu's to actually run ???

I downloaded a few to a 32-Bit System I set up expressly to run the Project a little but as far as I can tell the Wu are not running. The Task Manager doesn't show any activity even though the BOINC Manager says their running.

The Wu's should only take a few Minutes to run 5-6 Minutes at the most & I've let them run for 30 Minutes with out them Finishing if they indeed are running like the BOINIC Manager says they are.

Do you have to run a certain BOINC Client to get the Wu's to run or what ???

I installed the newly released v6.3.11 on my GPU Box and BOINCView works like it should now again, it sends the Signals or Commands to the Box & the Box responds accordingly ... :)

Glad to hear that, PoorBoy. You're set now :)

What next? 6.3.11 and a GPU or 2 in every box on the farm? NEZ has been top dog on Top 100 for too long. Would love to see you kick him down to #2 dog :)

LOL ... Ya right ... v6.3.11 has major problems really, if your not running a ps3grid wu it wants to start up every wu in your cache, not nice really. I had about 20 AI Wu's all running at once on 1 box ... May have to go back to 6.3.10

That plus I'm setting ps3grid to NNW for now, still having major problems with my account @ the project. I got my original PoorBoy account back but from there it's been all down hill really. Right now I have 4 different accounts @ the Project & none of them have the right CPID, long story & don't even want to get into it ... Dismal to say the least

The Yoyo Wu has took over for the last 12.5 hr's, I hadn't looked at the PS3 all day and just noticed that, so it's getting it's turn to run too I guess. Hopefully the Yoyo Wu will finish before the Astro Wu decides to start running again or it might be another 40 hr's before it runs again ... :)

The AP task is clearly checkpointing

Yes, I thought myself when I seen the 2 sets of data ...

As Richard asked: isn't it running with high priority?

No, it isn't nor has it ever been running in High Priority Mode that I know of ...

What's the "To completion" and "Report deadline" value for both AP and Yoyo tasks?

Astropulse Wu = 433 hr's To completion with a 10/15/2008 Deadline
Yoyo ..... Wu = 141 hr's To Completion with a 10/02/2008 Deadline

The Astropulse Wu started out with a 725 hr's To Completion Time but has since dropped to the 433 hr's after only running 38:30:00 hr's. My estimates now are for it to finish around 150 hr's as it seems to run fairly Linear since it started.

The Yoyo Wu can run any amount of Time it seems, I've seen them run 25 min's all the way up to 15 hr's so far. I asked about it in the Yoyo Forum & their reply was the Wu's can take as much as 40 hr's to do, but I'm not sure if that was for a regular PC or a PS3 ...

Sorry about that Jord, I don't think about those things when posting ...

Just to let you know that me getting my Account back @ the PS3Grid Project isn't going to happen I guess. I had a little contact with GDF @ the Project & thought he was indicating he would send me the Account Key if I couldn't get it thru the "forgot password" feature @ the Project.

His last contact asked me to try again & let him know so he could see if the Project was blocking the e-mail to me or not. I did that, and did it twice more over the next 24 hr's & let him know each time but haven't heard from him since.

So I told him in my last e-mail to him if I didn't hear from him I'd just consider the matter dead, I don't like to keep e-mailing somebody if their not going to respond back & it just makes me feel like I'm bothering them when that happens.

I'll just run the other Projects I can with the PS3 (SETI & Yoyo) & forgo running the PS3Grid Project ... :)

Pepo, I don't see anything in the client_state.xml file that indicates a <checkpoint_cpu_time> or even a <active_task> block, I checked it a few times & if it's there I don't see either ... ???

It's @ 30 Hours now without switching Projects so I'm just assuming it's going to run to it's finish like Ageless said even though I don't see a Wrapper running in the System Monitor or in the Project Folder or Slot folder for the Astro Wu ...

Also possible that it uses a wrapper, which then means that AP tasks run from start to finish without letting go of the CPU. Wrapper apps don't checkpoint (that easily).

I don't see no Wrapper Process in the System Monitor Window for the Astropulse Wu, I see some for the Yoyo Wu's though when those Wu's are running.

Hi Pepo, I'm using the Client the PS3Grid [v5.10.6] puts out or has you download to run the Astropulse Wu & Yoyo Wu's to, haven't got a SIMAP Wu on the PS3 yet so I don't know for sure if it works for them or not yet.

You've lost me on this though > "so you could simply check "checkpoint cpu time" / "current cpu time" on the task's Properties window" I don't see no Property Window or an Option to show Graphics either. So I don't know if the Wu has checpointed or not yet.
